I know the idea was Morgan was supposed to be ugly then magic turned her beautiful etc. But I honestly don't see why she couldn't just have got a nice dress and got her hair done. Other than the only problem would have been her eye. She was nice looking the way she was to me Thoughts ??

Helena is eternally fine with me, whether her eye is disfigured or not XD
Well, I don't know if it would be as completely easy to seduce Arthur if her eye was still all wacko, her teeth not wonderful, and whatever else was "off" with her appearance.
But on the other hand, Frik would have loved her anyway ^.^
Plus it gave a real contrast. It's even more of a 'wow' moment, even though we all should know that underneath Morgan's makeup is pure beauty.

Which I think is another reason I to why I like Frik so much. And I go get it was for the movie and a good contrast. I guess I just think she wasn't that bad looking the way she was. I can see the problem she would have with Arthur though.

Firstly, Helena is awesome in absolutly everything she is and does. That being said, I kinda agree with you, mabforever. What is interesting is that Morgan as a child was a lot prettier (and WAY smarter) than as an adult. But then again, Morgan: girl, go wash your hair and put a nice dress on and rock the world! *ggg*

Yeah I would say just fix your hair up and get a new dress love. Morgan does have her really dim moments but I think she does show alot of intelligence. I kind of think she's going for the really pretty and I'll pretend I'm stupid look. ;D

I meant before Frik made her beautiful, when she is playing with the kyte and all. It is kind of strange seeing a grown woman playing like that, considering she was very mature as a child, and understood that pulling a coin out from behind one's ear is NOT magic.
But I REALLY loved her line about beauty always being an illusion. Morgan is certainly no fool, and she understands the advantages of an appealing appearance, but she isn't fooling herself. And that "Beauty is always only an illusion" line totally disarmed Merlin and his arguments. *snickers*

Yeah I found that rather strange to it's like in the first scene she is a lil girl then you go back she looks older but is still a lil girl but then Frick makes her beautiful and she has no kite but the characteristics of a young woman. *also snickers* Yeash that was one of my fave lines to. And you have just inspired me for a new thread. Now where to put it *thinks*

New thread! Huzzah!
YES! Thank you! I'm not alone on this forum *showers with cookies*
Not much else to say... Frik/Morgan made the movie for me. I mean, the only reason I decided to rent Merlin from Blockbuster was because of Helena... so yeah.

I really love how diverse Helena is. She could do about anything, and she has this dark beauty to her.
What I liked about Morgan was that she always got what was actually going on, you know what I mean? She wasn't blinded by Merlin's spell when Uther came to her mom, looking like Cornwall. And later, she welcomed it when Frik made her beautiful, but never fooled herself and knew that it was just something superficial that wouldn't last. And she also sort of understood politics, so yep, Morgan (and of corse, Helena) rocks!

Alex, if you please ^.^ But alright *hands over plate of cookies*
Exactly. At one point, you see her as a young girl in a pretty, renaissance-style corset, and then you see her as a dark drug addict. And yes, there is something about the way she looks that's just... wow. I saw Terminator Salvation (ha, I hated that movie. Only one reason I saw it) and that one point, not her first scene, but when she's talking to the robotic dude and it's in theaters and she so beautiful... it's just amazing. And she's 43 (I forgot her birthday *sobs and slaps herself in the face repeatedly* Forgive me Helena! Even though I'm three days late!*bakes her 1,352 birthday cakes*) Anyway... XD
Yeah, she always seemed like the rational one while everyone else was all passionate and focused on their own goals and was really the intelligent one of the bunch (in a neutral way. Mab is witty and intelligent in a dark, evilish way ;D)

I think Morgan is the most complex character in the whole movie. She sort of reminds of Cassie from Skins. She has low self esteem and is sort of floaty and dreamy but not stupid.

Now that I think about it, she reminds me a lot of the main female character in my story, who also has the same first name o.O
