Wow! That picture, it has such strength to it. I love it. Epic water imagery with staff and crown (silly helmet). Thank you for posting this!

That's a lovely picture! I wonder if it was something that was cut from the scene where Guinevere is rescued by Merlin/ Lancelot. It's the only scene I can think of with the heavy rain in the second part. Either that or a scene that was cut entirely.

Perhaps it is the following scene from The Shooting Script:232. EXT. BATTLEMENTS. PENDRAGON CASTLE. NIGHT.
MERLIN climbs up onto the battlements and looks up at the night sky in rage and despair.
Thunderclouds gather and he finds himself creating a TERRIBLE STORM.
There are suddenly claps of thunder and fork lightning splits the sky. The expression on MERLIN's face tells us these are emotions he is experiencing as all his hopes seem to have been destroyed.
It pours with RAIN but MERLIN doesn't notice as he stands, an isolated figure on the battlements in the middle of a MIGHTY STORM.
Merlin's appearance in the photo made me think of the scene where Merlin confronts Arthur about his night with Morgan. He's wearing the helmet and has his staff in hand. In the script, the scene is segued from the one above only by Mab's solo dance by Arthur's throne. MAB dances in triumph to unheard music in the moonlit room. FRIK is seated on the dais next to the throne and smiles only when MAB looks in his direction, otherwise he is miserable.
It may have been an alternate take from the dance we see in the film but there is evidence that the latter part was filmed, which makes me wonder if there was at one time extended footage of Mab dancing.

Ooh nice! Poor Frik. I would love extended Mab dance. Who knows what styles Miranda tried. In the audiocomments to Sleepy Hollow Tim Burton spoke of how she would do the summoning of the headless horseman differently every time. How I would adore -kill?- to see those takes. :-D
I find it striking that whenever Merlin does use his magic, to save Nimue, to save Guinevere he calls upon water. As if to show his allegiance to Puddles and certainly not to Mab.

I'd forgotten about that scene in the script! Yeah, that's probably more likely than the scene with Guinevere, it's Arthur who seems more affected in that scene, plus it's much lighter than it seems to be in the picture.
Haha, yes, I would have loved to see the outtakes of Mab dancing!

I found two beautiful publicity stills of Queen Mab: Photo 1 Is similar to an easily found promo photo. Photo 2 Appears to be an alternate shot of Mab in Ambrosia's Cottage.

Lovely stuff! Yes, these seem to be alternate angles to the scenes where Mab creates Merlin in the crystal, and then one of the two scenes in Ambrosia's house?
