I guess I could have included Loke discussion in the Jim thread, but now that Cid is alive again, and the Lord of Fire is mentioned in the books, if never making an actual appearance, then I thought we may as well have a thread discussing him.
Sooo... any topics for discussion? My general thoughts are I adore Loke, he rocks muchly. Which, TBH, isn't great for discussion...

If you're not careful, I'll bring out the cute smilie, too But yes, hmm, what other discussion could we have about Loke... Well, I believe we from MRAP had a discussion once about what actor would play Idath if he'd appeared in the film, so what about Loke? Who can you invision playing him? I'm going to be incredibly helpful and say I have no idea- the main picture in my mind of Loke is Tosca's wondrous drawing (which you must post here!!!), so trying to see it any different is just strange...

Ah! Tosca has a Loke drawing? I have never seen it!
Um. Yeah I started the 'Which actor would play Idath' discussion. LOL. But Loke? Hmm. I don't have a good enough mental picture of him. *pokes Tosca*

I also love this character - especially since we kind of made him up (as an actual character), we had the chance to play with him more, to make him as we chose. And I found that really great - I love his reactions, they can be most unexpected: he's got a really... interesting sense of humour - indeed, being the Lord of Fire makes him find chaotic situations funny, and exciting... Then, he can be one of the few - if not the only one - to get along well with Mab no matter what she does/says, which can only be a good thing. And he's the Lord of Emotions, something that does have its advantages every now and then? I think?... As for who might play Loke... I have NO IDEA. *dead* And I confess, I have thought about it a few good times... and I'm still at a loss...

...And a thread killer xd
As for the character – can I just be really unhelpful discussion-wise and say I love Loke?
OK, Jim moment ahead. Who else would use the old practical method and punch Merlin in the face to get him to his senses? *cracks up every time when remembering that* Or who would ever have the guts to “surprise” Mab by jumping in front of her when she’s completely absent? Srsly, I love this character.

*joins ye in a belated Jim moment*
Indeed, ye knows I do too ;D I have to say, I think Loke is one of my favourite aspects of Jim. Not because his scenes were neccessarily my top favourite parts- there were many awesome scenes before he was even introduced, for example- but because the character as a whole was just a joy- I mean, there were moments like the aforementioned ones, there was the whole relationship with Mab, which was really unlike the relationships she had with any of the other characters. It's very lighthearted, but it's still close. And I always loved writing him. I think that's one of the biggest attractions of his character. And I don't want to risk speaking for everyone else here, but I wonders if that might be one of the reasons he became such a prominent character.

Okay, as I understand it, The Lord of Fire was mentioned in the books and is something like Mab's brother. Who of us named Loke? Because I know his name is fan-based In nordic mythology, there is a God of fire and trickery named Loki....(not a very nice guy, btw).

The Lord of Fire was never named in the books, he's just referred to by his title.
We named him Loke in Jim, and it seems to have stuck across the fandoms. Whilst this is going back several years now, I seem to recall discussing what we should name this new character with several others (Lane was definitely one, I think Tosca, Crysta, Incapa and Mab Rox? I can't remember which people were there exactly, but it was probably among that group), and the name "Loke" was indeed based around Loki.
