I guess it depends on your definition. If you count consensual sex as any sex that hasn't been actively against someone's will, then no, it wasn't rape. If you count consensual sex as ONLY sex with someone you are specifically consenting to, then yeah, I guess it would be rape, because she was consenting to have sex with her husband, not Uther. And I'm still confusing myself. That is the single most confusing post ever. Sorry Himiko. But anyway. LotL is MAJOR on my bad list. She had it coming man!

Actually, I got the idea in it, or it did sound logical at the time. *thinks about it again*
I would only add a small specification to “…If you count consensual sex as ONLY sex with someone you are specifically consenting to,” - AND that someone is indeed who you think they are (or who they say they are, and not some randomer who got helped by Merlin). This could make it even more confused, or hopefully manage to get the point across (in either case, my brain seems to get fried).
As for the Lady of the Lake, maybe she had it coming, but she needn’t take a whole world down with her, if she just wanted to “cease to exist.”

I know. Poor Mab. Why go down too if it is just your dumb sister who wishes to die? I mean really, not that Mab was taking the best approach, but she wasn't awful. She was contributing and she did want to stay alive and help her people. Lady just had a death wish.

Yes, that's my major problem with the Lady - I can't understand for the life of me where she's coming from.

It is probably from lack of screen time and lack of book time. We don't get much to explain her characters. Which also means we can't really bond with her either.
She turned into a bit part, but played too important a role to be a bit part.

Yeah, it’s actually quite funny how even the writer that did the novelisation failed to come up with an explanation as to her general behaviour. *snicker*

A suicidal Lady of the Lake makes me laugh. I might do a humor Merlin fic now, with her as a key point.

Maybe Puddles sold out to The New Religion; in exchange for betraying Mab, the Lady of the Lake will at least be mentioned in the stories surrounding King Arthur, while Queen Mab will be entirely forgotten, or absorbed into Morgan's story.

Actually, that's the only logical explanation I've ever heard. And it does make some sense, seeing it's basically what's happened (although I think that was more chance, than anything else), but it kind of comes into contradiction with the general character of the Lady - I mean, she does seem manipulative to a certain extent, but not that extent. Or maybe I've just given her too little credit. o___O

"All things change, sister. It's sad, but heaven, hell, and the world move on. It's fate."
"No. You forget, I'm the Lady of the Lake, I'm made of water. Now everything is flowing away from us. And I accept it. I'm sorry my dear."
Words of a traitor!

Especially if we're suddenly counting Merlin's Apprentice as canon for this argument. I spent that whole movie agonizing over the pig, and the Lady's sudden change of the tide.

Well... he's Uther's son, what did you expect?

Indeed! So we can blame Uther for that, too!
