Sorry if I've missed anyone out I'm getting the people from the first Merlin movie not the sequeal. Well who do you think? And do say why you think this? ;D I went for Mordred. Why? Because yeah he is a bit bratty but I love his hair and I think he is really cute. Followed by Lancelot/Merlin then Vortigern. What?! I have weird tastes ;D

Okay *clears throat* here we go: I picked Vortigern, because to me, he has the greatest charisma. He has a dry humour, and even if he sometimes acts stupidly, I think he is quite intelligent. Also, I kinda like the way he is built. I can't stand these thin guys, I like teddy bears. hehe Oh, and I like his hair. Before I ramble about the rest, I want to apologize if I am getting rude, these are all great people and actors, and I love them all. This is just a very superficial observation, based on their looks in "Merlin" alone. Lancelot: didn't leave an impression on me at all Uther: I apologize to the actor for saying that, bet he is a terrific guy, but PLEASE....YUCK! It's weird, he is both asexual and horny like hell to me. A guy the world (and women!) could do without. Merlin: I actually quite like Sam Neil and the way he looks, esp. in Jurasic Park and Snow White. But as Merlin...nah. Mordred: Oy. I really didn't pay attention to him at first, but after joining this board, I started to think about him. I personally don't like his hair, but was pleasantly surprised when I saw a pic of Jason Done with short hair. So yeah, he is a great character and has potential! Arthur: Just like Lancelot, he left no impression on me. It's like staring into a hole. Frick: No comment. That was just my humble (and superficial) opinion!

lol ramble away. See Vortigern made like a third with me I'm not Lancelot mad TBH but his section needed a new thread. So I added this and felt bad about not putting him in my top three Uther = I just do not like him. But I think Fwick is cute ;D Only in a "I'd like to carry you around in my pocket" sort a way if you get my drift. Of course if I was going by looks of the actors it would be different.

Ooh... hmmm..
Lancelot: I'm personally very picky about who I fall for ^.^ I won't deny that Lancelot was good looking, he just didn't attract my attention *shrug*
Uthur: I can't even ATTEMPT to think of him that way!! O.O
Merlin: In Merlin, I didn't really feel anything... but Sam in Sweet Revenge...! (heehee. Need to actually watch the movie to get what I mean ^.^) Sam Neill is wonderful, though.
Vortigern: I like the Mab/Vortigern thing. I like them together. But Vortigern is a little too old for a teenager like me, thanks.
Mordred: I have a thing for longer hair. And Mordred's pretty cute.
Arthur: Blah. No thank you. Especially with that beard that he grows O.o
Frik: Adorable as a gnome ^.^ But a blond Martin Short... wow. Longer blond hair. Now, I have no control over this aspect, but that's just my type as far as appearance.
So... are we talking Frik gnome or human? I can't make my choice without that bit of knowledge.

Age is no problem with me what so ever. Well I draw a line at 12 and under. Mordred: I have that same thing. Mmmmm whatever you like now I think of it I should have put a Frik gnome and Frik blonde. *hits self*

I am not quite a teen anymore, but I agree with mabforever. Age isn't important, as long as he is older than me. *whispers* I seriously like older guys, even if Rutger looked a bit too...crumpled in Merlin. But I liked the tent scene a lot. And Rutger was sweet in Fatherland, even if tall, big boned blonde guys in nazi-uniforms scare me.

Haha, that made me laugh XD No, I'm not too picky either. I actually only crush on guys that are older than me, and I refuse with anyone under sixteen. But hey, Martin Short is 58! And dude, I still like him! Well, 48 in Merlin, but still. Just as long as they're not too old-looking.
And either one?? Doesn't help my decision.

Hmmm... well, my taste in men lookswise isn't really represented in Merlin, but I'll try and do what the rest of you have done.
Lancelot- Meh. I don't really find him either attractive or unattractive, in all honesty. There's no real flaws in his appearance, and the long hair is a plus. Bit old for my usual type. Mostly, however, he just suffers from being extremely "generic" looking. There's nothing particularly striking about his features, his personality, his mannerisms. I can see why he would be considered good looking by some, but a bit dull for my tastes.
Uther- Hell no. I've never seen any pictures of the actor outside of "Merlin", so it might be that the film did him a disservice, but "random perv from the pub who's going to seed" much? The fact that his personality kind of matched that, too, really doesn't help his case.
Merlin- Hmmm... I don't find Sam Neill particularly good looking, nor particularly ugly, I can see arguments for both sides. He's not as generic looking as Lancelot, however, so he gets bonus points for that.
Mordred- I'd say Mordred is the closest, so he gets my vote. Reasonably young, slim build, long hair. Not stunningly pretty, but rather sweet looking.
Vortigern- No. Again, not generic, but I find Vortigern/ Rutger Hauer as a whole to be pretty damn unattractive.
Arthur- See Lancelot.
Frik- ... No.

I agree, my personal taste in men wasn't really represented in Merlin either. None of them made me go:"I don't care who you are or what you do, let's just ride into the sunset." Lookwise, none of them left a lasting impression on me.
Frankly, Mab was the only one who managed to do that. When she first appeared on screen I was like:" Boah!" But she doesn't really count, considering that she is obviously not a guy.

Um, with the risk of repeating myself, isn't my choice obvious?! And I can safely say that my personal taste was 100% represented in this movie. ;D So, predictably enough, my vote goes to Vortigern. I love his blue eyes, and he's just handsome, and oooh! I love his hands! And his voice! And pretty much everything about him. ** *dies* (And as a side note, I do like Rutger Hauer in just about any movie ) Out of everyone else, I also think Lancelot looks nice. The rest haven't made any impression on me in this respect, so I won't even go into details.

@lane: We need to think of a secret Vortigern handshake *ggg* I like his blue eyes too. And am I wrong, or does he have quite big hands? hehe, me likes....

Oddly enough, I find nice hands a rather nice bonus as well, but again, I think our definition on what we look for differs a bit. The prettiest male hands that I can think of exist amongst my real life friends. As do most of the prettiest males, come to think of it XD (except for Johnny Depp, who, whilst I have tried to resist thinking this due to his already huge number of fangirls, is unfairly, ridiculously good looking)
But methinks I've taken the topic and wandered off a bit with it, LOL

If there is one true sentence, then it's: "beauty lies in the eye of the beholder". And I think that's quite well this way, I mean, one is bound to find Johnny Depp attractive, but for the rest... and this gives us enough material for endless man-candy discussions!! For example, I hate it when guys have these piano-player girlish hands with long fingernails. Because I don't want theirs to be prettier than mine. I like the bricklayer kind (as long as they are clean!) That was kinda OT, too, but who cares

Oooh, see, now I much prefer "piano player" hands, if you will. Slim, long fingers, and so on and so forth ;D Same for both genders. Though the nails themselves aren't so much of an issue. As long as they're vaguely clean, we're all good.
Yeah, this is just becoming an eye candy discussion, isn't it? XD

Man-candy discussion!!! (yummy! ^.^)
I simply can not resist... lord, let me plug my laptop in so I don't get shut off before I finish enjoying this conversation.
...
Okay, so. I do really believe beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I understand why some people like certain people, like how some people like Rob Pattinson (yuckie!!)
Johnny Depp is scrumptious. In everything he does.
Blonds though are my preference. And speaking of blonds, Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall *swoons* In everything else, I feel nothing. Actually, the only other thing I've seen him in is Fight Club, which was amazing anyway. But nothing.
That was tooo OT.
As for hands, as long as their thin enough. I prefer piano-player hands to "bricklayer" ones. But I also like them to be rather masculine, clean, hands with fingernails my own length or shorter.
Yes. It's now officially an eye candy discussion.
