I assume in the film she was Lady Guinevere then Queen Guinevere but in the BBC version she is a servant to King Arthur. Not sure if they end up hitched, I know they have a thing, but I'm confused

Yeah, the BBC confused me with Gwen, but in every other version she has nobility, but then marries Arthur and becomes queen. :/

I've always seen her more as the way she is in the 1998 movie, Guinevere/Arthur I thought of as people who loved each other but were generally shoved together as a couple.
Having Guinevere be a servant who, probably will get together with Arthur who she "loves" then run off with Lancelot who she "loves" just makes her seem like an utter cow to me.

Yeah, I know what you mean it makes no sense. Lena Heady, was my image of Guinevere. The way she is played on the BBC makes me think, the servant girl and the prince, ooooh epic love story, she is a servant for godsakes oh wait it's ok she has sodded off with Lancelot. It makes it look like Arthur/Guin had to put so much work into that relationship and for no reason. Where as to quote someone elses words (can't remember who's) I see Guinevere more as a royal hoe.
There is also lack of racism used by anyone else in Camelot. (not necessarily bad) Maybe we are meant to ignore her race? No offense to Angel Coulby in anyway and I'm not being racist just realistic.

Gwen should be nobility. It makes no sense. Of course a servant girl would run away with a princeling! That's a great deal! Not for Arthur, but definitely for her. Her servant-status bothers me a million times more than her skin color. Black people aren't allowed to play nobility or what?

I always see the character as a bimbo lol. Gwen should be nobility. It makes no sense. Of course a servant girl would run away with a princeling! That's a great deal! For Guinevere/Arthur and Guinevere/Lancelot it just lacks point. Her servant-status bothers me a million times more than her skin color. Black people aren't allowed to play nobility or what? Oh yeah haha, oh wait no haha thats suckish. *crosses arms*

New topic Goodbye bbc Merlin, hello Game of Thrones The second season is coming close. All of you huge fans are probably dying now. I wanted to put up this promotional poster of our Merlin's Guinevere. -sorry I forgot the actress' name- And admire it for a moment. She still looks exactly like Guinevere!

Lena Headey is her name- she plays a lot of queens... And yes, I am just about dying of excitement, despite having read the books XD Though I have a horrible feeling I will be watching Littlefinger and thinking "Loke", now... EDIT: On the subject of Lena Headey still looking like Guinevere, I hadn't really thought about it, but she really does as Cersei... IRL, though, she doesn't look quite so similar- try google searching her!

Yes it is an awesome poster! I love it. I have only seen her as Guinevere and Cersei. Who else has she played? I have a horrible feeling I will be watching Littlefinger and thinking "Loke", now... That's not a bad thing I think of several other shows while watching Game of Thrones. It's fun. Somehow I always drag Miranda Richardson into it. If only Mab would make an appearance. I googled and you are totally right. Amazing. I suppose it's because of the long hair.

She was also the queen (I think her name might have been Gorgo, or something similar, but don't take my word for it, I have a terrible memory) in 300. Watched the first episode tonight ^^ Unfortunately, Littlefinger only got one decent length scene, and it was my least favourite scene from the episode (a bit clunky, and made LF seem kind of stupid, which is a little unfortunate for someone who has cleverness as kind of a defining personality trait...) Believe me, I have racked my brains over a character Miranda could play in AGoT, without luck Maybe if they aged her up a lot she could play the Queen of Thorns... I think it's unlikely, though....

Ah yes! That was her. -I can't remember the name of that queen either- I still have to watch the first episode. I think I am going to wait a while and then watch several episodes in a row Poor Littlefinger. He deserves impressive scenes. I do miss Miranda in it.

Clearly they should make a role up specially for her for the show- hell, they made Ros up out of nowhere.
Oooh, she might make a good Genna Lannister, thinking about it, though it wouldn't be a very big role and she doesn't appear until a few books down the line...
I saw a leak of Episode 2, which has an awesome Varys scene, which has almost made up for my displeasure at the Littlefinger scene in the previous episode ^^
On the subject of Lena Headey, she seems to be doing an awesome job with Cersei this season, she holds her own considering most of her scenes are with Tyrion and Joffrey, both of whom tend to dominate whatever scene they're in.

Yes, we have to think of a cunning plan to get her in there
