So just because I LOVE polls - please vote for your favourite Sam Neill- film, there are 3 possible choices - and no - Merlin is no option here, because I believe it would be everyones favourite anyway. ;D

Saw him in Jurassic Park first. Took me forever to realize it was the same guy in Merlin lol. Dinosaurs created by science and wizards created from magic just don't go together at all. Mom made me watch My Brilliant Career and I did end up enjoying it a lot. I also watched A Cry in the Dark. I didn't watch any of these because of Sam, I just watched them because I was interested in the movie itself. But Sam always gives great performances, so it's always wonderful to see him turn up in a movie. When I watch movies of his younger years, like My Brilliant Career, he is drop-dead gorgeous and it makes me wish he had been that young in Merlin. The same thing happens with Alan Rickman (Severus Snape). He's gorgeous in his younger movies like Sense and Sensibility, and I wish he had been that young when he played Snape.

I think my favourite non-Merlin Sam Neill film (excluding Jurassic Park because, sorry Sam, it's all about the dinosaurs for me) at the moment is probably "Hunt for the Wilderpeople" - would thoroughly recommend it.
I've also realised, looking through my DVD collection, that I've got a load of films with him in it that I've picked up over the years on sale but never got around to watching... should really get on that.

Sam Neill, Sam Neill, let's see, first saw him in Jurassic, then Merlin. Obviously love those. I thought he was brilliant in And then there were none and Thor Ragnarok. I really liked those parts for him. I haven't seen him in all that much to be honest. I saw his Snow White, because I watch every Snow White. I want to see Daybreakers, vampire Sam Neill, and I know there was another horror film on my list with him going insane or something but I have forgotten the title.
