I remember saying somewhere, that Merlin, Arthur, Mordred, Lady of the Lake, Lancelot & Guinevere appeared when I think of the Arthurian Time Period. Maybe because they are the most noted I dunno. Also the whole round table concept keeps disappearing from mind. What comes to your head when you think of this time? (Graham really needed a topic, seemed like a good place to post, it does sort of involve him.)

Hm...well, when I think of Merlin, I usually think about the Gargoyles (the cartoon show) because they used so many elements of the arthurian myth...and a Merlin actually made an appearance. (hey, I watched this when I was 7 or so, I was easily impressed!)
Nowadays I see Sam Neill in front of me when I think of Merlin, and of course, Mab comes to mind, even if she is not actually in the legend.

What is this random cartoon you keep talking about lol Yeah Mab does tend to get a page all to herself. A shame she wasn't a real part of it though.

Mab was not physically present in Gargoyles cartoon, but I think she was mentioned at least once in the show. She was the mother of King Oberon until he defeated her and then Titania, Oberon's wife, became Queen of the Fairies. --- In the fictional universe of the animated series Gargoyles, the name Oberon's children is given to the so-called Third Race of beings (the other two being humans and gargoyles).
Though not literally the offspring of Oberon, he is nevertheless the leader of the entire race, serving both as ruler and father-figure. In general, it seems the species are referred to as children of their current ruler, as they were called "Mab's children" when still governed by Oberon's mother, Queen Mab. Oberon ascended to the position both by virtue of being Mab's son, but also because he had been the one to overthrow her.-- here's a great place to read about gargoyles and oberon/mab/titania stuff: gargoyles.wikia.com/wiki/Oberon

No wonder there are sooo many Mab fics where Mab is alive *thinks* ok this is why all Mab fics have Mab alive. I know that's how I feel too. But I think it's because Mab is always seen as the "dark" fairy queen while Titantia is seen as the "light" queen. Even when Mab isn't killed, she always the more dangerous and dark one. Just look at the Dresden Files books, which I haven't read yet myself, but I've read the wikipedia pages. Mab is the Queen of the Winter court of the fairies and Titania is the Queen of the Summer court. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Dresden_Files_characters#Maben.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Dresden_Files_characters#Queen_Titania

Ok I'm gonna say one I will argue her case if she was killing new born babies but two I'm a lil freaked out. I'd never heard of this in my life but I also role play and (so happens I role play with a chick who does Mab) but anyway, my characters daughter is called Maeve and her sisters are Rosemary (Rose) and Lillith (Lily)
