Hey guys I received a message from Proboards. Basically, the posting of adult material is forbidden on proboards, and they appear to be cracking down. Because we have R/ NC-17 rated fics on here, we are in violation of this policy. If I don't remove the fics, the board will be closed down. As I'm sure no-one wants this, I have been removing the fics, and will be looking through the rest of the section to make sure there are no others violating the terms. I AM KEEPING COPIES OF ANY FICS I DELETE, IN CASE ANYONE DOES NOT HAVE A COPY OF THEIR OWN FIC. I will quite happily email or PM these copies to people who want their fic. They are, of course, quite welcome to post it elsewhere, fanfiction.net allows fics up to M ratings, and I believe most of the fics I'm deleting from here are already posted up there. IN THE FUTURE, ADULT MATERIAL (IE. RATED NC-17) WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE BOARDS. I advise anyone wishing to post their fanfics, which I, and others, do love to read, to post them on fanfiction.net Really sorry about this, but I'd rather the boards not be shut down. Thanks Himiko

Do you know which ones were removed? On mrap and on here they say stuff is removed, but which ones? So far I haven't noticed any of the ones I read are gone. It must be only one or two that were bad? And how bad were they? There's plenty of fanfics still posted that have sex in them.

Ummm... I removed a few links to M-rated fics on ff.net, left ones that were reasonably non-graphic, on the grounds that I assume they qualify as PG-13. It's dodgy territory though, so I might have to go through again tomorrow and get rid of some more. I definitely removed one of mabforever's fic links, but most of them are floating about.
Just off the top of my head, some of the actual fics removed:
Part 3 of Libitine's Mab/Merlin fic Distractions, by me (might remove Daydreams, too, not sure...) Some Distraction by Maellowyn One of fishinthesea's fics (Nea-9 on ff.net)
Once again, apologies to those who've had stuff removed, but I'm pretty sure they're all posted elsewhere.

sheesh those are no different from a lot of the others. I don't remember them being graphic at all. Graphic to me is the stuff you see under 'M' on ff.net or adultfanfiction.net and usually includes beating, brutal rape, or BDSM, not sweet romance. Also, besides fanfic, what about all the nasty stuff we talk about just from discussing the movie. Is proboards only going after fanfic?
It has to be pretty down and dirty for me to rate my fanfics 'M' mostly I rate them 'T'. Millions of books out there written for teenagers have sex scenes.

I agree, personally, but I don't want to risk it. Proboards sent a link to one of the fanfics above, and said that it needed to be removed, and that there may be other stuff needing removal. I don't want to risk losing the boards entirely, so I'm erring on the side of caution for now.

I also removed Daydreams (by me), and Chasing Shadows (by Tosca), in case. I think Chasing Shadows is the only one not up on Fanfiction.net, but I believe its still up on MRAP. I might well replace that fic, once I've checked proboards rules in detail, as I know MRAP has had troubles with the same thing in the past, if its still up there, might be alright to keep up. Same with the links. But for now, I'm erring on the side of caution. Once again, I've kept copies.

Personally I think it's madness I mean is you dont like dont read I was around 13 when I started doing fics rated M or reading them. I mean if you dont like stuff you just dont read it once you click open your not compelled. But I agree I'd rather loose the fics than the boards any day. As long as there are copies around eh
