Merry Gentry / Queen Andais Fanfiction!

I just finished reading the 3rd book. So this is takes place right after that.

The Queen of the Unseelie Court had requested my presence. This was nothing new, but I was worried. I was always worried about what she would demand of me this time. I was Princess Meredith of the Unseelie, but even I had to obey the Queen. The Queen had recently been ecstatic with me for restoring and healing her warriors after her wild rampage of lust and violence. She was also overjoyed with me because I had restored some power and fertility to the Queen herself. But that was where my problems began. She had threatened to take me to bed with her if she thought it would increase the strength of herself and her court. I never thought she would actually act on the threat.

As soon as I entered the bedroom, I kneeled on the cold stone floor and bowed by head. I didn't dare look up, afraid of what nightmare-ish scene I would see this time. Last time, it had been her slaughtering her own guards and leaving their entrails all over the bedroom.

"Meredith, Princess of Flesh and Blood, you may stand." The Queen's voice rang out.

I stood and met the dark, unreadable gaze of my aunt Andais, the Queen of Air and Darkness. She was dressed in black. I had expected no other color, black was the color she wore almost constantly. Her black, satin dress was extremely revealing. There was a cut up the side of the dress that reached her upper thigh and I could see a knife strapped there. The front of the dress also dipped dangerously low, almost spilling her chest out of the tight corset underneath. But I was relieved for one reason: the fact that she still had her clothes on. Perhaps I could talk her out of this insane adventure.

"Aunt Andais, I don't think this is a good idea." my neutral voice politely suggested.

"And why not?" Her voice cut the air sharply, warning me not to disagree with her.

"What evidence do you have that this will work?" I attempted to reason with her. "The kiss I gave you last time came from the Consort himself. That was not my power."

"You underestimate yourself, Meredith." Andais countered. "You made me bleed and brought me to my knees. Though you cannot kill me, there are few alive with the power to bring me to my knees. Your power is the key to restoring Faerie and its inhabitants."

Merry admitted to herself she had a point. Most of the powers she had restored to her guards had happened while she was having sex with them. But this was nuts! She wasn't going to bed Andais of all people! There were so many ways something like that could go wrong and Merry doubted she'd enjoy whatever violent mating rituals Andais liked. She might not come out alive at all if Andais decided to play with her.

"I prefer to keep my body parts intact."

"You think I would risk permanently damaging you?" Andais laughed. "I need you to produce an heir for the throne. I will not maim you. All I'm asking for is a little cooperation."

Merry's mouth went dry as the Queen's eyes gleamed at her. There was no getting out of this. Andais had already planned what she was going to do tonight.

"I would invite some of the men into our bed tonight...but I don't want any distractions. I'm here for one thing." Andais purred as she closed in on Merry. "Your power is delicious. I want to feel that power rush through me again."

Andais stopped a hair's breath away, her lips hovering far too close. "And do not deny it when I say I know you enjoyed the feel of my power coursing through your body."

"Aunt Andais..." I made one last attempt, but she stopped me by bringing her lips down hard onto mine.

I was locked in an embrace I could not break. She was too strong as she held my body still. Her small, tight breasts were pressed against my slightly larger ones. She forced my mouth open and dove inside with her silken tongue.

"If you fight me Merry, it will be painful." she warned as she stripped me of my clothes. "But if you comply willingly, it will be pleasurable."

My body was naked, her body was naked. She gripped my face and tugged it towards her to meet in a searing kiss. Her fingers wrapped themselves in my blood-red hair and tugged until it was only slightly painful.

She will make you beg for mercy before the end. It does not matter what you do, only that your amount of resistance will determine the amount of pain she uses to subdue you. Doyle had warned her.

But fury still rose within me. This was wrong! What would my father have said about me fucking my own aunt? She could do many things, but it didn't mean she had permission to fuck me just like that.

My teeth sank into her lips, made her bleed. She only laughed and ran her nails down my back to create bloody furrows. "I like it rough." she whispered in my ear before throwing me onto the bed with her superhuman strength.

I tried scramble across the bed to escape, but I didn't get far. She grabbed me by the ankle and ruthlessly jerked me back to her.

She tied me down so I couldn't move, then thrust her fingers inside of me. My hips jumped against her hand as I shrieked my fury at her, one long note of fruitless defiance.

She just laughed again and then put her mouth below. As soon as her tongue began to stroke me, I knew I had lost. My skin began to glow its familiar pearlescent sheen and my eyes blazed colors of green and gold.

Andais had always been much taller than me, but she snaked her way up my body until she found my breasts. She examined them for a moment, "These are lovely, niece of mine."

Then her tongue circled around one and licked the tip. I couldn't help it, I moaned loudly. She smiled lasciviously.

Andais brought my hand down to where she wanted it on her body. "Now, do as I ask or I will ask more." she commanded me.

Andais was still on top, but I ran fingers carefully through her molten folds. Her skin was glowing as blindingly as my own.

Her red lips were parted slightly and her tri-colored charcoal eyes stared down at me the entire time.

The next time our lips met I felt the same charge we had shared that very first time. Her power swam through my veins like a raging inferno and mine did the same to her. I heard her startled gasp of delight from a distance. My eyes were clouded with power and lust, but I could still feel her body crushed against mine in all the right places. Her damp fingers left the sweet wetness down below and traced the bloody lines on my back. She brought the fingers back to her face and licked the blood off them with relish.

Andais put a small cut on her breast and pressed my mouth against it. I choked down her dark blood full of power as she stroked my hair.

"I would cover you in blood this night my dearest niece, but unfortunately I must leave you in one piece." she said it like I should be pleased I aroused her this much.

She seemed to know I had reached my limit for she asked no more of me and I drifted off into blood-filled dreams, body wrapped in the darkness of the strongest unseelie alive.



When I awoke the next morning, I was still in her arms. Her dark hair was next to me and without thinking I reached out to press it against my face. Andais smelled of expensive things like wine or perfume, but she also smelled of blood and death. I shuddered silently.
The awakened Andais seemed to take this as a sign of attraction for she put her hand back between my legs and touched me before I could stop her.

"You said only one night." I gasped out with difficulty between her strokes.

"I did not. But by all means leave now, if you can." she offered with a seductive smile and added a second finger.

I couldn't move. Dammit! I couldn't move! Not with her fingers inside me like that.

So I had to settle for glaring at her. Her smiled widened.

"I hate you." was all I could think to say.

She teased my lips until they responded to hers. "I'm counting on it."

Anyone who hasn't read the Merry Gentry series should read the first 3 books at least. The end of the third book is extremely Merry/Andais-centric.

Doesn't seem like Andais will ever forgive Merry for what happened in er I suspect you haven't reached that part yet.

for taking all her men? for putting flowers in her torture chamber (BWHAAHA!) ? I'd say there's a long list of things Merry's done to piss off Andais. I'm glad Merry isn't cruel like Andais, but I also agree with Andais: Merry is too seelie at the moment. I hope she'll be a bit more unseelie otherwise Andais will never warm up to her.

I just wonder how long Andais was watching Merry have sex. XD We only know she was there right at the end.
I was surprised to learn Andais doesn't like pain inflicted on herself at all.. heh in that department Merry has her beat.

Isn't it kinda strange that Andais often loans her bed to someone she doesn't like? Is it because she believes it to be the only place free of would-be assassins or does she just do it so she might get a chance to watch Merry's orgies?
Where the hell does Andais sleep when Merry's in her bed?

I don't get why merry thinks it would "destroy her soul" if andais bedded her. sheesh, as long as they could make an agreement that andais not damage her, it would be ok. merry likes a little pain anyway.

I really can't figure out Andais sometimes. I'd say 'yes she wants to sleep with merry only as a punishment because she truly hates the girl' but Andais is so lustful sometimes that I almost think she's attracted to Merry anyway.
But its completely one-sided, except for a few suggestive sentences, I know Merry doesn't like her at all.




Found out where the faery hills are in Illinois: Mounds of Cahokia
Its in western Illinois which means its about a 3 hour drive from where I am.
Or it might just be one fan's take on the matter. I'm still looking for an official source of confirmation.

For Andais punishing and loving are closely linked.

I think she is attracted to Merry or at least to her power. Power that ought to be Andais'.

hehehe you're right. She can hear everything whispered on the night air and it was in her own bedroom too.

I dont think Cel's the major problem in a Merry/Andais world. Merry seems annoyed but sorta (respects?) the love Andais has for her child.
Merry doesn't wanna kill Cel because she wants to upset Andais. She just wants him dead because he keeps trying to kill her.

Both of these excerpts come from "A Stroke of Midnight"- book 4

but I needed them out of me before the endorphins faded completely.
Otherwise it was just going to hurt. I wasn’t entirely sure it wasn’t going to hurt anyway. The two of them together had been my limit, not beyond it, but definitely at it.
I drew breath to ask them to move, but another voice filled the silence first. “Oh, Meredith, brava.” She clapped, and others clapped with her, because when the queen applauds so do you.
The endorphins left in a rush, tightening my body painfully around the two men, almost as if my body was squeezing them tighter. It brought a small moan of protest from my body. I was going to be sore.
Adair slowly, carefully, began to draw himself out of me, which brought another sound of half-pain from me.
“Meredith,” she said, “I didn’t know you had it in you.” Then she laughed at her joke, and was still laughing when Adair had moved enough of his upper body to reveal her to me.
Andais’s body glinted in the thin light, glinted with fresh, and not so fresh, blood. She was covered in it. Her long hair was plastered along her body with blood and thicker things.

"Give your aunt a kiss, Meredith.”
I opened my mouth to ask why, then closed it. She was doing it to be cruel, in part, but everyone I had touched today seemed to have gained from my touch. Perhaps the fact that I did not want to touch her would make it all the sweeter for her.
“Of course, Aunt Andais,” I said, and my voice was almost neutral.
“Does the thought of putting your white flesh against me right now sicken you?”
That was a dangerous question.
“You frighten me, auntie, to say anything else would be a lie.”
“Then kiss me, niece, and let me taste your fear on those red, Seelie lips.”

I tightened my grip on Rhys’s arm, like a child holding tight in the night. She bent over us, and I raised my face to her, obedient, afraid not to be.
She pressed her lips to mine, but it wasn’t enough. She grabbed the back of my hair, and forced her mouth inside mine. She kissed me so hard that I either had to open my mouth or tear my lips on my own teeth. I opened to her, and she gave me the taste of her mouth, her lips, and the salty, caked sweetness of Gwennin’s blood. I knew from that kiss that she drank his blood, for it was everywhere inside her mouth.
Blood is one of the most precious fluids. It is life itself, and can be a great gift when shared, but this had not been a sharing. This had been a taking, a rape of everything that he had been.
I dug my nails into Rhys’s body to keep from gagging. I dared not show that much displeasure. I fought to breathe, fought to swallow, fought not to throw up on the Queen of Air and Darkness.
She fell back from the kiss with her eyes sparkling, “Oh, you didn’t like that at all, did you?”

I took deep, even breaths. I would not throw up. I simply would not. I had no idea what she would do if I did, and Gwennin at her feet reminded me what she was capable of. I had the very taste of him in my mouth to remind me. I fought not to dwell upon that taste. I mastered my breathing and my stomach, but knew that it had shown on my face. Nothing I could do about it.
She laughed, a sharp, fierce, happy sound like the cry of a hawk. “I think, before I give my throne away, that I will have to demand one night with you, Meredith. You are entirely too human, too Seelie. You would not like what I would do to you.”
“If I would like it, you wouldn’t see the point in doing it,” I said, more anger than fear in my voice. I could not stop it.
She shook her head, almost sadly. “There you go again, Meredith. Your words are fine, but your tone says fuck you and the horse you rode in on.”
I looked at her, and for once I did not try to hide. She liked that I hated her. She would enjoy forcing me into her bed, in part because I hated her, and she hated me.
“Say what you’re thinking, Meredith. Tell your auntie dearest the words that will match those angry Seelie eyes.” She purred at me, a voice that was anger, seduction, and the promise of pain all rolled into one.
Rhys tightened his arms around me, his body tensing. I said, “We hate each other, auntie dearest, we always have.”
“And the fact that I would force you into my bed, how does that make you feel?”
“That I would rather be queen sooner than later.”
There were gasps. Andais laughed. “Are you threatening me?”
“No. When I held Galen’s dying body in my arms, I thought it was too dear a price to be queen of any court. I still think it,
but thank you, auntie dearest, for reminding me that I will be queen, or I will die.”
“Coming to my bed is not death, Meredith.”
“Some deaths, auntie dearest, are of the soul rather than the body.”
“Are you saying that if I force you it will kill your soul?” She laughed again.
“I am saying that it will kill something inside me, and you will enjoy its death.”
“Yes,” she said, “I will.”

That's why I don't understand why at the end of Swallowing Darkness *we'll come back at this some time *

Why er Merry is humany and thus wants to be good. The Seelie court is supposed to be good. *coughs*
Andais should train her to be more dark. Some sword fighting lessons, ...
make her channel her energy to non-flowery business.
Down side: this would make Cel very displeased.

I dont think Cel's the major problem in a Merry/Andais world.

Andais' role keeps getting smaller. I hate that. With every new book I'm dreading that Laurell will kill her off.

Actually, it is surprising that Andais doesn't torture Merry more to do her bidding. I'm sure she could find methods to harm her physically without endangering her fertility.

She knows Cel wouldn't be as good a ruler as Merry, but she does love him and did promise him the crown. So yes, it is because of him that she would not train Merry. I imagine it's also because of her proud. By training Merry it would look like she is happy to put human spawn on the throne.

exactly! I'm glad you feel the same. I once tried describing Andais' epicness to someone who doesn't know the series, couldn't resist mentioning this part, grinning widely, they didn't approve.

book 5, ick school is going to start in a couple of weeks. I have to finish the series before then because I usually dont have enough time to read anything besides textbooks during the school year.
