lol well extremely Biblical Christian nominations such as mine see most other "christian" denominations, especially catholics and angelicans, as pagan already because they don't really practice/believe in what the BIBLE has to say. They just follow the traditions of man and what the pope or priest has to say. Hence the protestant reformation, but even most protestant groups kept most of the traditions of the catholic church when they broke away from it. They didn't bother to check and see if the Bible actually teaches what the catholic church was teaching.
For example, most christian denominations today worship on Sunday rather than the Sabbath (saturday). The Jews who followed Christ, and the ones who didn't follow him, worshiped on Saturday. Always. The 4th commandment of the 10 commandments says to worship on the sabbath. No where does it say "please change the day to sunday now, I've reconsidered." God created the world in six days and then rested on 7th day. He didn't rest on the 1st day.
The reason we ended up with Sunday was because the pagans worshipped on Sunday (the worship of the Sun). Thank you, Pagan Rome for paganizing Christianity when you adopted it as your national religion. *sarcasm* All of those venerated Saints of the catholic faith are really just Roman gods in disguise. Virgin Mary = mother goddess renamed. Mary was a human being, same as Elissa->who gave birth to Merlin. Just because a human gives birth to a non-human savior doesn't mean you should be praying to them in any way. Do we pray to Elissa because she was the virgin mother of Merlin? Absolutely not.
All of the holidays we have today: Christmas, Easter, etc can all be easily traced back to the Pagan holidays of Rome.
I think the only holidays that truly could be considered "Christian" are some of Jewish holidays like Passover etc.
Don't get me wrong. I love Christmas and Halloween a lot. But there's no denying the pagan origin of them.
In conclusion, I'm just jealous these people are able to get that close to Stone Hedge. I went on a normal day when I was studying abroad in Grantham back in 2010 so of course I didn't get any closer than the rope d off path.
P.S. Revelation predicts that closer to the end times, paganism will increase greatly, so I'm never surprised by this growth spurts. Basically, the last days will be the complete inversion of the first days of the world. In the beginning, the world was was perfect and everyone knew God existed, even if they still did bad things (Noah's flood). They had every reason to live a good life because the earth was still in good condition, but they don't.
In the last days, the world is falling apart (environmentally and spiritually) because hardly anyone believes in god anymore or has turned to other religions. And yet, despite these absolutely appalling conditions, there will still be a few that follow God anyway.
God is showing the entire universe that no matter what happens, there will still be those who choose to follow him willingly. (Book of Job's story is a prime example.) That and satan's true destructive nature will be revealed to all by allowing him to play out his little rebellion instead of instantly vaporizing him with a bolt of lightning.

I know little of the workings of religion but I do want to reply here. The appeal of pagan religion lies partly in it being both old and new. It traces back before Christianity and is, as said, the basis for many christian feasts. Thus the Old Ways can be seen as pure and the 'original'. Many religeous people might long these days for a cleaner religion, one with less conflict about in these modern times. Pagan religion, despite known human sacrifices in the old days, has obtained a rather romantic image of nature and harmony. Things we feel we have lost or fail to respect. Also since the druids did not believe in writing down their exact beliefs of the old religion because that would destroy the sacredness, we do not know much about the content and can fill it in for ourselves, create a religion with a more personal feel to it. One last thing I would like to mention, in regard to the old ways, vampires and Cid, is that I watched a documentary about the origin of vampires. They believed it traces back to the rise of Christianity in Britain. Because of a new religion taking over the people felt uncomfortable thus they indulged in superstition and started imagining their deads would rise from the grave if they didn't bury them with stones to keep them down.

;D awesome! *rolls giant rock on top of grave* I have a new story to tell next time I'm in a graveyard lol. "Make sure you weigh your relatives down after they die or they'll come back and get you!"
I agree that some people are shopping around for a religion that respects nature and the environment. Unfortunately there are many groups who choose focus on other issues and think the earth is a thing to be used any way we please, regardless of environmental consequences.
But I don't believe the Bible teaches that behavior. Once again its people looking at Christians rather than looking at the Christ/Bible as an example of what Christianity is about. Christians are human beings and therefore imperfect so their example will never be as good as Christ's example.
