Announcement article on "The Mary Sue"So, I read this article earlier- apparently Rutger Hauer has been cast in an upcoming ABC show, "Galavant". It's described on the website as a "Mediaeval Musical Comedy". Also cast is, um, Weird Al Yankovic... Got to admit, I am DEFINITELY curious to watch this now.

I just watched this show and must say I had fun! Even though I'm not quite a fan of musicals in the Disney style... But the writing and the story was quite creative and good. For a comedy it had lots of parody-elements. (Even a few hints on Game of thrones...) And I love those ... as for the actors- I was surprised too! I believe Mr. Hauer didn't sing much but he was his usual self.. and Timothy Omundson in his character kind of reminded me very much of Queenie-the way he played an overgrown childish eccentric king.

Yup: abc.go.com/shows/galavantIt recently ran on ABC... as I said he does not join in the merry singing, but he is definitely THE bad guy, as we know him. He appears in the last three episodes - but since there are only 8 very short ones you should watch it from the beginning. In the end, there even is a short appearance from Anthony Head, who I also love to hear singing/and see acting.
