Hi there, welcome to the board! Always nice to meet another fan I would ask who your favourite character is, but might your username and profile pic be a bit of a giveaway on that question?

Welcome to the forum. Oh My Mab that tumblr page is a beautiful project! I also love the name. Ambrosia's cottage, it's so vital to the story. Morgan and Frik are adorable.

Awesome! Great to see Merlin related stuff still springing up on the internet, I love your Tumblr. Have you written any fanfic or created any fanvids yourself out of interest?
Good to have more Frik/Morgan fans on board - it's nice to have a bit of a balance against all us raging Mab fangirls XD

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply. First off, thank you sleepyqueenie for your kindness! I settled on the name Ambrosia's Cottage as I was flipping through the shooting script. I wanted one of the locations. I hope you, and everyone else on this forum, had a wonderful holiday! Thanks again. Himiko, thank you as well. I have written some fanfictions for Merlin. They're almost all focused on Morgan and Frik. I shall have to check them out! Many thanks. Libitine! *squee* *hugs* Hope the real world has been treating you well? Himikoooooo! Real world is real! I'm up in the North West of England, Lancashire area. How are you enjoying London?
There is a lot... There are 5 different series (Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise) plus another one coming out later this year (Discovery), there are several films that follow on from both the Original Series and TNG, and now there's the "reboot" films (3 so far I think) which are a reboot of the Original Series but set in their own distinct timeline... Given that TNG, DS9 and Voyager are 7 seasons apiece, I don't see much chance of getting through them all anytime soon.
As to what I've enjoyed, I can only speak to the shows I've seen (TNG and scattered episodes of DS9 and Voyager), but - I quite like genre films and TV shows, so that's one point in it's favour. It's very character driven - it's not just "shooting things in space, there's heavy focus on the politics of the galaxy, but more than that, on the characters themselves, their interactions. Honestly, I'd say the first series of TNG struggled in parts because there was too much focus on "Look at this cool alien!" and not enough on "Look at these awesome characters". There's some interesting questions raised about what it means to be human/ alive amongst others - Data's episodes in TNG are usually worth a watch. And it's pretty diverse for a show aired primarily in the 60s, 80s and 90s - not to say that it's perfect on that score, the casts do have a tendency to skew heavily male (something common to most TV shows these days too) and LGBT+ representation has been conspicuous mostly by it's absence (though that will apparently change in the upcoming series) - the fandom has responded to this with metric tons of slashfic, naturally.
Also it may be partly me tiding myself over until the next Mass Effect game.
I will say though, that I haven't been overly enamoured of the new films. They came across as more "generic sci fi action" to me, and it was only because I ended up seeing some of my boyfriend's epic bingewatch earlier this year that I was tempted into one of my own. And there is a monolithic amount to get through - my Netflix "To Watch" queue is taking something of a beating from my decision.
And I'm going to stop typing now before I take over this thread with Star Trek XD

Very welcome. We are very happy that you appeared, it's been sadly quiet on here. Is Arwen around? I saw online that there is a new Merry Gentry book (okay it's been around for some years but I only now found out). "A Shiver of Light" have you read it? I gave up during the novel before that one. Andais, the fairy queen, our favourite character, hasn't been around much and it's been heavily implied that she will be leaving the series soon. I heard that she had a bit of a bigger role in "A Shiver of Light". Could it be true? Apparently the book is as badly written as the ones before and everything is now about the main characters' babies. *groan* But if there is Andais, I'd like to see it. But if it is just to 'do away with her', I may rather not see it. I am torn. I love fairy queens so much. edit: And this sentence should be in it. "You are the least vanilla person I know, Auntie Andais; you are anti-vanilla, Auntie Vanilla, get it?" Merry, Merry, Merry, how petty have you become? I read Malinda Lo's Young Adult Novel Huntress, in this book the maincharacters go on a quest to see the fairy queen, on her very own invitation. It takes a long while for the queen to appear (about 260 pages), so she is not in it much but she was pretty spectacular. I have another fairy queen crush. What is it with fairy queens?
