Hi everyone (all 2/3 of you , that is)! Excuse the announcement, but I have received a notification saying that this forum is going to be upgraded to the new proboards forum software (proboards v.5) at some point in the next few weeks - no specific date given. I am trying to find out a bit more detail about what changes this might entail to the forum, and will let you know as I find out more. From what I can tell, this may affect the layout of the forums, and the background/ colour scheme etc. So, please be aware that there may be some changes to how the forum looks. It may well be down for a while during the upgrade, too. As far as I am aware, no content (topics, posts etc.) should be deleted during this upgrade, however, if there is any content that you particularly want to keep, it may be worth saving the content in a word document etc. in the meantime. As a Global Moderator, not actually the admin of this group, I don't have privileges to update all aspects of the forum, thus it may be tricky for me to get everything back to the way it was straight away. I am attempting to get in touch with the original creator and admin of the forum, to see if she can get back onto the forum and either assist us with the transfer, or update my privileges on the group. I will let you know any other details as I find out about them. In the meantime, if you have any questions about this, let me know and I will do my best to answer them. It may be that there is no noticeable change at all, and this is simply a fuss over nothing!

Ok, thank you for informing us! I do hope nothing gets deleted because of that or I shall be a very cross faery. Watch out, proboards.

OK, so it looks like we've been changed over now. A few changes to the way the forum looks, but by and large, everything seems to be intact. Please let me know if anyone notices anything odd, or missing, etc.

Yeah it looks okay.. and basically it seems to work. Even though I don't like it to allow more scripts on my browser. The colour looks even better on this than on the mrap-forum.

Now I founds something to criticise...
I am missing those buttons on the bottom of a page, where you can chose the number or just switch pages forwards and backwards - I mean they are present on the top of a page, but as I recall they used to be both on the top and on the bottom - after re-reading some longer threads it is really annoying to have to scroll all the way up again to just get to the next page..
And is it just my browser, or why can't I see the polls?

I found this annoying too, but I've noticed that on the browser I'm using at the moment, the page "counter", if you like, actually travels down the page with me, remaining in the top left of the screen- so you can change from the bottom of the page, you just have to select the page at the top of your screen, if that makes any sense.
As to the polls issue, that might be a browser problem, I can see them OK on mine (Google Chrome)- maybe try using another and see if you still have the same problem?

I miss the Karma. I liked that, it felt as if you are handing out Mab crystals. Now we can 'like' posts which also is fun but has less charm to me. Can we turn the thumb into something Merlin related?

I just popped into my Admin section to see if there was anything I could do on that score- I can't find any options that will allow me to change the thumb, unfortunately It may be something that I don't have the access for, or Proboards simply might not provide this feature on the basic boards. I'll have another look around at a later date and see if there's something I've missed, but I think we're stuck with the Likes for now.

Thank you for looking. Ah well no worries. I don't mind a little chance much. As long as the forum is up and running I still discover things I haven't read before on here. It's an absolute delight.
