In our Merlin he is more sort of nice if a lot gullible but on BBC he is a total jerk and treats Merlin like dirt. So what do you think the real Arthur was like, jerk or berk?

Oh I dunno...interesting thought... The Arthur in our Merlin is just suuuuch a waste of air, and everybody treats him like this golden boy, but really, he is such a sissy. And probably the unsexiest man alive (back then). Probably got that from his father. YUCK. the BBC Merlin Arthur really is a jerk - a lot like the guy who runs the school in teen-highschool-movies. A brainless I-am-so-cool-look-at-me football hunk. Blah. I kinda like the Arthur from the mists of Avalon, I can actually imainging him being like that (a kind, nice guy, who's a good king but has issues as well). He has never been the most interesting character in the whole story (no matter in what version) but I hope he was like in the mists of avalon. That way, he actually deserves to be remembered.

the movie is a bit lame...it has angelica houston and juliana margulis in it, but that's about the only good thing. I can really recommend the book tho, it's by Marion Zimmer Bradley. It has a really great perspective on the whole Arthurian myth, and it's all from Morgan's point of view. It's a book with quite a few pages, but totally worth the read.
It tells the story of Viviane, Igraine and Morgain, and it's giving you a really good insight on the old ways...or on how they could have been. so thumbs up!

It's a great read, and with that book in your bag, you'll never have to fear being robbed again: You just pull it over his head and knock him out! Believe me, it's heavy enough!

Does anyone remember The Gargoyles? The cartoon I mean? Or am I the only one old enough? It dealt with the arthurian myth as well, and arthur himself only showed up for like 2 times. Because he was such a boring character.
Also, and I am sure all of you know that: The Sword in the Stone (the really old disney cartoon)! Arthur is like a 10 year old kid in this, and the major part of the plot focuses on Merlin and the witch Mim. That's also the reason why the whole thing is called The witch and the magician in German...Arthur wasn't even interesting enough for an ancient disney cartoon! (although I think The Gargoyles was done by Disney, too...) And in Merlin (our Merlin I mean) Arthur is like the most unnoticable character ever! You don't even care when he dies (well, at least I didn't). Sad but true. I am starting to feel sorry for Arthur!

*passes zimmer frame to fishinthesea*? What does that mean?
Other than that, my point is that Arthur is a totally pale and boring character...the story itself is cool, but EVERYBODY tells it from a different perspective, Arthur is always just a side-kick to the "main character".

Nothing *whistles* Maybe cos he's blonde *shrugs* I dunno. You'd expect him to be more of a main character due to him being king and all.
