Mab's eyes positively blazed.
"What?" she snarled, dangerously, "You tell me that my powers, my existence, are in the hands of that frivolous, foolish girl?" Beside her, a surprising flash of anger appeared in the Lady of the Lake's expression, too. Hearing Mab's words, however, it quickly cooled and faded back to neutrality, and she faced both Idath and Morgan calmly.
"Mab, have a care with your words, for once in your life," Idath cautioned, shooting her a look that was both warning and pleading, for he certainly had no wish to see her harmed by this surprising turn of events, "You know what this artefact has the power to do- its wielder for once has power over the Elemental Kings, a power to give one of them power over another- just once, just one command. But one command is enough when that one command has to be obeyed."
"...Even a command not to return to the mortal world, or to give up your powers," the Lady added, that blank gaze now turning to her sister. Mab snarled.
"So that's how you would use the power, if it were given to you? To kill me? If I cannot fight for my religion, sister, for my people, I will die. Why?" she demanded. Receiving no reply, she turned on Idath.
"I know what it does, Idath, perhaps you recall, it was in my possession until recently. Though I'm rather curious as to how it left it." Her suspicious gaze turned upon Morgan le Fey, still clutching the box to herself. The woman's ghost glared back at Mab.
"You killed me," she said, accusingly. Mab faced her.
"You slipped on the stairs," she said coolly, "If they were more... slippery than usual, perhaps you should have been more careful with your footing."
"You killed me, you took Frik away, you were going to take my son away and leave me with nothing! I was supposed to be the Queen mother, I was going to have power and wealth and castles..."
"You were nothing but a spoiled child," Mab snapped, "You cared only for revenge on Arthur, and the riches it would bring you. You would have had no power, girl, because neither I nor Mordred would have been foolish enough to have given you any."
Morgan wailed, "... I was beautiful! I was young, and I was beautiful, and I died because of you." She stared down at the box in her hands, and Mab paled as she realised that perhaps deliberately angering Morgan at this stage wasn't such a good idea, particularly when her sister stood there, calmly, quietly, watching.
---
Merlin's eyes were drawn to the box that Morgan cradled, too. He watched the argument between the two women, and as Morgan grew angrier, he itched to try and grab the box away from her. Not for Mab, he told himself. She was his enemy. He hated her. He had wanted her dead- had part expected to see her dead when he had brought her here in the first place. And surely, selfish though some of her arguments were, Morgan's anger was justified. But, and here Merlin's eyes shot to the Lady of the Lake, there was something too strange in the Lady's determination to have Mab out of the way, to destroy her if neccessary, indeed, in all her actions recently- she hadn't explained properly, her actions had been cruel, and whilst Merlin had sworn to defeat Mab, he would swear an oath ten times as strong that not even that was worth giving the Lady of the Lake power over another Elemental King.
---
Morgan stepped forward, glaring at Mab again, "I can use this box... You'll disappear...." But then her expression suddenly clouded wih confusion, and in the end, Mab was temporarily saved by Morgan's rarely- seen common sense.
"You said you can't take me into death because of the box?" the former Lady of Tintagel asked suddenly, spinning to face Idath, who was looking stricken at how events were unfolding.
"Yes..." Idath replied, hesitantly.
"Then... Then when I give her power," she gestured to the Lady of the Lake, "You'll take me into death?"
"Yes," Idath nodded again, as though it were the most obvious thing in the world, "You are a mortal, your destiny is to cross Anoeth and be reborn from the cauldron. As it is all of your kind's..."
"No!" Morgan replied, stamping her foot.
"Pardon?"
"No, I won't!" she snapped, "I don't want to die. I don't want to disappear. If I don't make a decision, if I keep this box, I can stay here..." She was backing away now, running, and within moments, she was floating out of the Lady of the Lake's kingdom, the gods looking after her in surprise.
"An... unfortunate decision," she grimaced, "But a small setback." Once again she gestured to the guards, and both Merlin and Mab were caught by them, "Put them in cells next to each other. They need to be kept close." Both figures struggled as they were pulled away, Mab in pure outrage, Merlin because a part of him, foolish as it was, still hoped that the Lady would remember that he had helped her, that she had done terrible things to him that she had promised to help him with, that she didn't really mean to simply lock him away, imprison him and use him as a means of keeping her sister imprisoned.
Idath stepped forward, "Release them," he snarled, "I understand relations between the Elemental Kings are difficult at the moment, but I cannot countenance you holding your sister prisoner."
The Lady faced him, calmly, "This is my realm, Idath. I command the supreme power here, and you hold no jurisdiction. This matter is between my sister and I- I know you have feelings for her, but trust me..."
"Trust you?" he growled, "My feelings for your sister are irrelevant here, woman- why are you so determined to see her gone? Why do that to Merlin? You're plotting something, and a serene and pure white image does little to fool a fellow immortal, my dear. Tell me what it is."

Mordred stopped out of breath and lost. This horse was not as fast as his but twice as tired. "Auntie Mab !!" he called again in even more frustration. "MAB !!!" he wasn't screaming because he thought she would come. He had decided earlier on she couldn't hear him. Still screaming aimlessly seemed to calm his nerves. Where was his beloved auntie? What had happened to her? He didn't know but he was willing to bet Merlin had something to do with it. Lady of the Lake or not he would kill him if he had so much as harmed a hair on her head. Not that he wasn't going to anyway.
After all he would have nothing without her. That was when it struck him more than ever before. If Mab was dead or he couldn't find her, he wouldn't be king. All his hopes, his dreams, gone forever. No! That wasn't an option he would search the whole country if neccesary. He was just about to take of again when a light hit him. Knocking him clean off his horse. Mordred lay on the ground and when he looked at his horse he could have swore it was sniggering. The thought then vanished from his mind when he noticed a figure standing before him.
"Mother?" he was hoping for his aunt how typical he would run into his idiot mother instead. "Mowdwed ? I thought you were with youw knights." His mother looked as though she had been running. Well she was a ghost so it was technically running but, oh forget it. "I was have you seen aunt Mab?" Morgan thought about this for a moment. What should she do not tell him and let the old crone suffer her fate? No he would never forgive her if he found out. Then again if she did tell him it would lead him to danger.
She decided to see how he would react to what she had to say next. "Why so bothewed about hew? You do know she is consowting with Mewlin." Mordred flamed up. "Consorting? What do you mean mother?" Morgan gave a small smirk. "I seen them, togethew. They wewe vewy...close." Mordred had, had enough. "Liar!" he screamed. "Auntie Mab would never betray me! We have worked to hard!" Morgan decided what to do now. "I know what I saw Modwed." she kept her voice level but the tone was harsh.
Mordred was fed up now. "Have you seen her or not?" Fine if that's what he wanted he could go and find Mab they could rott together for all she cared. She had youth and beauty now. "Yes I've seen hew." For some reason she new at the point what to do, she touched Mordreds horse and it glowed. "That will take you to hew." "Thank you" Mordred said begrudgingly. "Good bye my son." Morgan hardly looked at her son as she disappeared again. Mordred wasn't worried though. For some reason he knew she'd be back.

The heavy door falling shut behind him raised old memories in Merlin. It seemed like several lifetimes away that he had been imprisoned in Vortigern's cell, wishing to be rid of his magic for good. And now here he was, in yet another cell, with his old wish so cruelly granted and even less hope of escape than all those years ago.
The cell itself was a hole. Two strides in length, one in width, with a thin, moist layer of rushes on the ground that provided a nice, moldery smell. Little droplets of water were running down the rough stone walls, and as Merlin examined them, he found a hole about the size of his hand, too low for him to look through standing, too high to do it kneeling.
With a sigh, and figuring that he didn't really have anything more important to do at the moment, he crouched and took a careful peek. What he saw was Mab, sitting with her back against the wall and her eyes closed, her face a perfect mask of calm.
So the Lady had really meant it when she'd told the guards to keep them close. Merlin sighed again and rose from his uncomfortable crouch. Massaging his back, he took another look around. The cell did not offer much room for wandering, but he hesitated to sit on the questionable things on the ground as well.
Just then, he heard a rustling sound from the other side of the wall, and Mab's pale face peeked through the hole in the wall. 'Figures,' Merlin thought, 'that it would be the perfect height for her.'
He expected to hear her rasping voice snap at him any moment, but to his surprise, she took a quick look around his new home, fixed his face for a second, and then retreated to the privacy of her own cell.
With a sigh - he was getting really good at those - Merlin sat down.
---
Meanwhile, the Lady of the Lake smiled, unfazed by the accusations the Lord of Winter had just flung at her. "Why, Idath, so sore about that topic? Don't you worry, my sister will want for nothing in my care. Absolutely nothing."
"You haven't answered my question!" Idath was growling as he took a menacing step in her direction.
"I really must ask you to trust me, Idath. I am acting for the best. For all of us. She will see it, too. In the end."
And with a smile that was at the same time apologetic and frightening, she vanished, leaving Idath standing in a cavern of ice and steadily rising water, howling out his frustration.
---
Mordred spurred his horse forwards, ignoring the way it was panting heavily and had trouble to keep on its feet. He was far to busy convincing himself that what his mother - ha, mother! - had told him wasn't true. His Auntie Mab would never, ever 'consort' with that Merlin. She hated him, and he hated her, too. All the two of them ever did was to try and make the other miserable. Wasn't it?
And try as he might, Mordred couldn't keep the other images from creeping out from the memories he had firmly stored them away in. The evasiveness of Auntie Mab whenever he'd fantasized about killing the wizard nuisance. The way she'd wept over his presumed body. How she hadn't told him he'd been there in the first place.
And when his horse broke down beneath him, Mordred felt that he, too, would never get up again.

This was ridiculous why on earth had the Lady put them so close anyway? He had gone for her as asked and more or or less dragged Mab back, lost his power. Yet now he sat in a cell next to the woman he was sent to get. He sighed at his own thoughts. Great he thought now Mab was bound to say something. He sat for another minute getting more annoyed by the second he looked over at Mab again. This time catching her eye and to avoid looking stupid spoke to her. "Why so quiet?" he asked. She lightly smiled but it disappeared as soon as it had came. "What would you like me to say Merlin? In the past I brought you to my home to learn magick. You betrayed me, betrayed all I stand for and since then we have only argued. I have no idea how long we will be down here so I'm not going to waste my time." Merlin rose to his feet. "Betrayed you?! It was you who killed my mother, Ambrosia, Morgan, Nimue, Arthur." She sighed. "Oh Merlin, wrong yet again. I never killed your mother, I let her die besides she wasn't truly your mother anyway. As for Ambrosia she was already dying I didn't mean for what did happen to happen. She angered me Merlin, and I have let her off with that many times in the past. Anyway what would you rather? That she suffered that her life droned on in agony?" Mab had also got to her feet. Merlin remained silent. "I thought so." said Mab as she paced in a circle. "Morgan she tried to stop me and as for your precious Nimue she is not dead, she is very much alive. Arthur well he wasn't my doing that was Mordred and he hadn't much a choice. It was kill or be killed..." she trailed off as she sat back down. Merlin looked at her in disbelief. "You truly believe that don't you? You honestly think that none of this is your fault." "My fault." she hissed. "I fought for my people. Do you honestly think I would have killed your mother if I was going to let Ambrosia bring you up anyway?" "Well you are twisted enough." Mab rolled her eyes. "Letting that traitorous wench bring you up was my greatest mistake." Merlin punched the wall angrily, it shook slightly. "How dare you?!" "Ambrosia was the best thing you have done for me!" Mab slightly flinched grateful for the seperation of the wall after all that annoying fact that she was powerless still remained. "Maybe, perhaps you are right in which case you must be able to see the only bad thing I've done is take Nimue. She isn't really gone though is she?" "You let my mother and Ambrosia die!" "Merlin don't you understand yet? If I hadn't been there would I still have got the blame for their deaths?" "Well...no but the point is you were." "You see me as unbelievable because I see none of it as my fault." Mab laughed bitterly. "Yet you ! You expect me to save your mother and Ambrosia with the magick of the old ways and drain my power, when you are trying to destroy it ! If I hadn't been there with them when they died they would still be dead." Merlin groaned and slid down the wall closest to Mab. Did she have a point? No of course not ! She had been the reason they were dead- But was he just looking for someone to blame? He put his head in his hands coming to the obvious conclusion. Mab was correct they shouldn't talk though he had a feeling that wouldn't last long. ___________________________________________________________________ Idath had no intention of trusting the Lady of the Lake he knew her quite well and she was not one to be trusted. What he would do when the time came he didn't know. For now he would find her and not give up until he got an honest answer. As to what was going on. He walked of briskly on his search. ___________________________________________________________________ The Lady herself was in her chambers a most beautiful place incomparison to what was around it. She watched eagerly on a floating orb of water as the conversation between Mab and Merlin grew. The disappointment then showed when it so abruptly stopped. What else would have happened though with that stubborn sister of hers. Not forgetting that idiot wizard. How could she use the situation to her advantage? That was when it clicked she could always make Mab suffer in one final way. She made a motion with her hand and Merlins cell began to fill with water. ____________________________________________________________________ Mordred exhausted lay yet again on the ground finally he got back up but that old horse was tired. He had know way of getting there without it though. "Get up!" He yelled at it. He knew what he was going to have to do. The horse wasn't for moving he had no idea of where he was going or even how to get back. Mab was still unreachable so he was going to have to call his mother to aid him again. Not that he needed her, well not really he was just asking her a simple question. Right? "Mother!" he called as though out of pure force. "Mother!" he called again annoyance creeping in. "MOTHER !!" This time annoyance fully heard. Morgan stood amongst the trees of the forest listening to her son calling on her this time she would ignore it. He only wanted her to find Mab anyway. "Mother ! Please I need you !" At this Mordred himself cringed. However it done the trick and for the third time that day he lay on the ground. As the bright light had hit him again. He groaned and clutched his head. "This is not my day." ______________________________ Yay someone else done an update I thought no one was gonna come. ;D The last line I put in there I don't think is something Mordred would say. It's just with him keeping bouncing of the ground it seemed so original to put in.

Mab felt her sister's magic before Merlin, a cold shiver running down her spine. She almost jumped up, startling the wizard. "What did she..."
The rest of the question seemed obsolete. Water started to leak out of the already moist stones, filling Merlin's cell quickly. He got up, looking around frantically. "Mab, what have you done?" he cried accusingly, backing into the corner of the cell.
"Me? You seem to forget I can't use magic here, this is my sisters doing!" the Queen of the Old Ways arched an eyebrow, not believing that Merlin just had tried to blame her sisters doing on her. Couldn't he feel the Lady's power? How the air was shifting strangely? "Don't panic, and stay calm. She is just trying to unsettle both of us." The water already came up to Merlin's knees, rising steadily.
"Why would she do that? The Lady has always helped me!" Mab could hear the fear and disbelief in Merlin's voice. "And why exactly did she lock you up then?" he ignored her queston and waded through the dark green water to the door of his cell, inspecting it carefully. No, the room had been closed with a powerful spell. The water didn't leak outside or into Mab's cell, it was just in here, threatening to drown him.
"Lady!" Merlin called, his voice uneasy. "Lady, help me!!" The water had reached his hips, making it harder for him to move. Merlin clung to the frame of the door. "Why are you doing this?"

"Could you please stop doing that !" Mordred growled. "Fine then I'll leave it's not like I needed to come. You see Mowdwed I'm fwee now. To lead my life young, beautiful and healthy fowevew." Mordred got to his feet. "Then tell me mother why did you come?" Morgan sighed. "As much as I know you like to fowget it I am still a mothew and you my son. I wouldn't let Mab take you that day and it took my wowld fwom me. I done it then and I would do it all again now." Mordred thought for a moment and for the first time in his life he felt something for his mother.
Be it actually love, respect or just a tiny bit of admiration. His voice was very quiet. "Thank you." Morgan smiled. "My horse has broke it can't go any more and I don't know how to get to auntie Mab." Morgan looked longingly into the distance. She could go. Again she sighed. "Give me your hand I can take us to her." Mordred done so and they arrived just outside Mab and Merlin's cell. Just in time to hear Merlin shouting. "Lady, help me!!" The Lady herself had left her chambers of course as she had heard Idath calling on her.

The water had reached Merlin's chest, making it difficult for him to keep standing. He swallowed a few gulps of water and coughed. Fighting against the cold waves was incredibly exhausting. Why? What had he done to the Lady to deserve this?
This time, Merlin felt the shift of magic in the air as Morgan and Mordred appeared outside of Mab's cell.
"Mordred!" Mab called his name in surprise as her "nephew" and his mother appeared.
"Mab?" Mordred asked questioningly, not sure where his mother had brought him. "Auntie, what's going on here?"
Queen Mab left the question temporarily unanswered, turning her full attention back to the wizard. "Merlin, try to come over here, I think I have an idea!" She almost could feel his hesitation. "Merlin, I won't let my sister drown you, so get over here!" her command left him no chance to protest. The waves closed over his head, pressing him downwards, cold water numbing his limbs and making his soul shiver. He was so tired...so unbelievably tired..,and closing his eyes seemed so tempting. Sleep would surely bring him rest.
"Merlin!" Mab called, her voice piercing through his very being. The wizard opened his eyes. No, he wasn't allowed to sleep, sleep would bring death. Gathering all strengh he had left, Merlin pushed himself away from the prison cell wall, diving through the cold waves into Mabs direction. 'Give me your hand.' Why was her voice in his head now? But no time to think about that. Merlin reached the small whole in the wall, trying to push his hand through it. Even though he had expected it, the sudden touch of the witches lily white hand almost made his heart stop.
"Mordred! Open the door! Please! Use Caliban!" Mab shouted into her nephews direction.
Mordred didn't even have to think. Mab, Queen of the Old Ways, of Air and Darkness, the person he loved the most on earth - needed his help. Screw the wizard, he would deal with him later. Mordred pulled Caliban out of it's sheath and literally smashed the door hinges with one quick, clean blow. The door to Mabs simply fell to the ground like the useless piece of wood it was. In the same moment, Mab's grip around Merlin's hand tightened. "LET GO!" she commanded, and the wall that seperated their cells crumbled and collapsed. Enormous amounts of water broke loose and crashed into Mabs cell, and flowed down the corridor.
Mordred had to cling to the frame of the door, so he wouldn't fall, closing his eyes tightly to protect them from the water masses. When he opened them again, the scene that unfolded in front of him was truly an unsettling one. Merlin lay on the floor, coughing up water, holding onto Mabs hand desperatly, who kneeled right next to him. Almost lovingly, she brushed wet strands of hair out of his face, making sure he was able to breath.
"Auntie...?" Mordred's voice was full of hesitation and disbelief. Mab looked up from the semi conscious form of the wizard. Her hair tumbled in wet curles over hair back, drops of water trailing down her pearly skin. Normally, Mordred would have exploaded from anger at seeing Mab practically cradling Merlin in her lap, but the sight of her took his breath away.
Mab looked up and immediatly recognized the mixed emotions that played on Mordred's face. She let go of Merlin's hand and got to her feet, almost running to Mordred's side. "I knew Caliban was meant for you!" she whispered and brushed the back of her cool hand against his cheek. Mab smiled at the young man whose dark eyes looked at her slightly confused. She leant in and kissed his lips.

also dead, nice work ;D
___________
Morgan watched her insides turning inside out at the sight she saw. Her son and the woman who killed her, her son and the woman would had been like an aunt to him since he was a child. She felt physically sick but words seemed to clog up in her throat. Confusion pulsed through her. Merlin had been all over Mab earlier, she had just saved his life well got Mordred to. Only seconds ago she had been cradling him as if he was the most precious thing in her world. Now, now she was kissing her son !!
Mordred shared his mothers confusion. His mother had told him Mab and Merlin had been "consorting", she then saved his life and was cradling him. He remembered feeling a rising anger and disappointment, that was until he saw Mab. She looked delicious, she always did but the water had some how managed to enhance her beauty. How he didn't know if someone had told him this would happen before he wouldn't believe it possible. Then she left the wizard and she had kissed him.
All resentment leaving all other beings leaving the presence of the room, all other feelings leaving. Except for accomplishment, desire and was that possibly love? For Mab. The kiss he felt tingled his lips making him want more. Or just to never let go of her. Yes she was his "auntie" but the minute he had entered his teens that seemed not to matter. It wasn't like she was his real aunt ever since he had entered his teens he hadn't thought of her as just auntie Mab. How could he? Her beauty was intoxicating.
Mab herself was a little confused she had meant to kiss him but she wasn't sure why. Maybe it was the look on his face maybe she done it so he wouldn't turn against her. Maybe because he had helped save Merlin or because she had missed not seeing him. Or maybe she had wanted to kiss him all along but now seemed like the right moment. Mordred didn't break away she didn't expect him to. She had seen the way he looked at her, the way he unnecessarily touched or brushed against her. It did amuse her sometimes she was even grateful for the non-violent physical attention.
Mab began to enjoy it all the more as she felt Morgan's hate surge to wards her and Mordred wasn't for breaking apart. Still the reunion was best to be kept short she would have to explain to what extent she knew of what was going on. Also she would have to think of the least suspicious way to tend to Merlin. He was still semi conscious. Mab felt Mordred's hand brush against the wound Merlin had left on her shoulder her power still not full didn't help her to much with the pain it still had. She broke away keeping her shoulder as far away from Mordred as possible without drawing attention.

Still cradling Mordred's cheek, Mab turned back to Merlin.
"We have to get out of here. And we have to take him with us, I can't leave him here, in my sisters hands. Gods know what she has in mind for him."
"But, Mab..." calling her Auntie didn't seem appropriate right now. "We could just leave him here to die! He would be out of the way forever!"
"My sister is not going to let him die." her tone left no room for objection. "Help me pick him up, Mordred. Please. My sister is with Idath at the moment, we need to leave now." Mab walked back to Merlin's side. "Can you breath?" she asked the wizard, who only coughed in response. She threw an almost pleading glance at Mordred.
The young king of Britan was torn. Helping Merlin? This traitor? This...disappointment? Everything in him rebelled. It would be so easy to leave him here, or just kill him right away. He would be out of the picture forever, and he, Mordred, could reign over Britan unhindered. But then again...leaving him here at the Lady of the Lake's kingdom could be dangerous. Mab knew that Merlin wasn't going to fight for her, but he knew that he always would. Mordred cursed terribly, put Merlin's arm around his shoulders and pulled him up. "Let's go." was all he said.
Mab nodded and smiled. Mordred's childhood and upbringing had been a very unusual one, he had grown up way too fast, his mind still having to catch up with his body. 'He is growing up.' Mab thought.
Turning to Morgan-whom she had been ignoring up until know-she asked: "You are not going to help us escape, are you?" Not really waiting for an answer, she turned back to Mordred. "I need to get to the gateway to her kingdom, and I'll be able to use magic again." she explained.

Morgan was furious and she had to act now or loose her son forever. Again she turned to a mere flash of light hitting Mordred so he flew to the furthest away wall. "What now ?!" Mordred asked angrily. "Mowdwed have you fowgotten what I just told you about Mab." Mordred's face went blank for a moment then he understood what his mother was talking about. He then looked over to Mab would had went down with the weight of Merlin. She had her hand on his arm but was looking at him as if she wouldn't go without him. He knew he needed her to move Merlin.
He had a feeling there was something else and that would be enough. Anyway he would probably soon find away to have Mab to himself he had never been one for sharing. "Mother I don't believe you." Morgan looked at him exasperated. "Look at hew!" she spun round in anger pointing at Mab. "Even since we've got hewe she has been dwaped awound Mewlin! I saw the wizwad pin hew to the wall and kiss hew!" Morgan then had a particularly nasty idea. "Don't you wondew why the Lady of the Lake had put them both in cells, both so...close. I seen them when the Lowd of Death bwought me. They wewe all ovew each othew so the Lowd and Lady teamed up.
See so even they know!" Mordred looked at Mab waiting for an answer. "You can't believe her Mordred! I have not been pinned to a wall by Merlin unless he was threatening me! Why my sister locked us up and so close I don't know. And I do not intend to stay around to ask. Idath is on no one's side and you can clearly see I'm not all over Merlin." Mab walked over to him the water splashing up as she done so. Again she placed a hand to cradle his cheek. "You are my only champion Mordred. Don't you know that?" Mordred looked into her wolf like eyes.
He then took her hand and slipped his right hand around her waist allowing him to still hold her hand with his left. "Mother that doesn't matter to me Mab has chosen me." Mab lightly squeezed his hand but she could see the anger rise within Morgan. Being that her fate rested with the young woman she decided it best to sweeten her. "Morgan I love your son...just like you love Frick. Don't you miss him? Wouldn't you like to be with him again?" The anger began to melt from Morgan at the mention of Frick.
"We could bring him back together." Morgan began to think about this. She knew if she agreed she would have to give up the object giving her youth and beauty. Well it would be best to make a deal she thought. "Ok then I want you to make a pwomise fiwst." Mab sighed. "And what might that be?" "If I do that I assume I'll have to give you the box?" Mab was beginning to see where this was going. "You have my word I won't harm you or Frick." "I'm suwe you won't and yes I want that and I want to keep my beauty."
"Go on mother." "I want us all to live as a family again, together like we were in Tintagel. The difference this time will be you do not hurt either me or Frick." None of the parties were particularly thrilled at the prospect of living together again. Still Morgan knew it was the only way to stay close to Mordred. As for Mab she knew it was the only way to keep this dim wit of a girl happy and as she was in a hurry agreed.

"Where do we take him?" Mordred asked, turning back to Merlin. The wizards lips were blue, but his eye lids fluttered occasionally.
"Tintagel." Mab simply answered.
"Tintagel?" both Mordred and his mother raised their eyebrows in disbelief.
"Yes. He needs to get some rest. My sister actually tried to drown him, there was something strange in this water..." unconsciously Mab shook the last drops of wetness out of her dark hair. "And he can't rest in my realm, his human side is quite strong these days... the magic there would..." she didn't finish the sentence. "Also, I don't feel comfortably taking him back to Camelot."
"Well, Tintagel then." Mordred grabbed Merlin's arm and pulled him to his feet in one rough motion. "Mother?" he asked, looking at Morgan.
Morgan le Fey took a deep breath. "Give me your hands." she finally said, holding her own hand out. Mordred didn't hesitate, but Mab bit her lip. She hated being this powerless, for it was such a contrast to her usual condition. "This is degrading." she shook her head, but rested her hand on top of Mordred's.
A second later, they arrived in Tintagel.

The Lady spun round the corner just in time to see her prisoners leave. Idath at her heels. "I can see this marvelous plan of yours is working wonderfully." he smirked secretly happy Mab had escaped. "Oh don't you have anything better to do." she hissed with venom. Idath merely laughed. "You take into account your sister with her powers bound and the wizard whose power you took. Yet when it comes to two mere mortals you trip yourself up. Very careless my lady. As well as having your sister and her newest admirer against you, you have added his mother, her lover when he comes. And oh yes your only allie the wizard."
"You are mistaking me with my sister Idath, I am no fool. Yes I'll admit things didn't go as planned." She then crouched down to the water and lifted some in her hand. "However it wasn't a total loss, and soon all will be revealed my Lord." With that her body snapped into water and disappeared. Leaving Idath to figure what she meant and it didn't take him long... "Where are we taking him Mab?" Mordred asked but if it was up to him they would through him from the highest window.
"We will take him to your old chamber." Mordred stopped. "Are you being serious?" "Yes. We can keep him locked in there until we need him." "What might I ask is wrong with the dungeons?" "We don't want him to become ill so we best look after him." Mordred sighed. "And would you like me to sing him a lullaby while I'm at it?" "That is enough Mordred. We have work to do." Morgan who was relishing in having the most power for once put her hand on Mab's shoulder transporting them to Mordred's old chamber.
"You seemed to be stwuggling." Mab was again becoming enraged. "We could have managed!" Morgan walked round the room as though she owned it and everyone in it. "Pwobably but you wewe taking much to long and I want Fwick back now." Mab glared at her then helped Mordred drop Merlin on the bed. "Now what are we going to do?" Mab bolted the door behind them. "I have a promise to keep to your mother and then we shall summon Fyara." Both Morgan and Mordred looked at her confused. Mab rolled her eyes. "Why do I bother? Fyara is a creature to be weary of my people call her the trickster of time."
"Why? What does she do?" Morgan asked. "She turns from a beautiful young woman to an uglied old crown at the flash of light. She uses her beauty to entrap young men then when her beauty goes she feeds on them to return her youth. Still she has been a useful acquaintance to me." Mother and son nodded unsurely normally Mab would sigh but she had another worry. If Mordred was immune to Fyara it would mean he was truly in love. Mab wasn't sure if she wanted to find out the answer to that yet. "What use has she to you-us then?"
"She is also a guardian of the old ways so she will be able to seal Tintagel of from the Lady. At least until everyone has had time to rest." Mordred then pulled Mab out of his mothers ear shot. "Speaking of rest where do you intend me to sleep?"

Fyara just popped up out of my head so she can be like whoever as she doesn't exist.

"Well, you'll have to go back to Camelot. There is a lot of work to do, you know that. I told you it won't be all fun and games." That wasn't the answer he had expected, but then again, she was right. He was needed back in Camelot. Mordred nodded obediently.
Mab pushed her hair behind her shoulder and turned back to Morgan.
"Stay here and wait. Frik will be here as soon as possible." Morgan didn't answer, but looked doubtfully. "I gave you my word, didn't I? I am keeping my promises. I'll be coming back for Merlin as soon as he is better. And as said, I have to take care of a few things."
"Well, alright. But send me Frik. This is all I care about!" Morgan clutched the box tighter. Mab nodded.
Mordred reached for her hand and they both disappeared in her usual flash of lightning.

Mab had decided it would be better to see Fyara personally as she was never pleased when being summoned. Though Fyara had other plans, as the goddess turned around to see a beautiful woman stepping out from the large mirror on the wall. Her red wavy hair floated around her. "I heard my goddesss calling." she spoke with a soft hiss. "Yes but I don't recall you being able to read thoughts?" "No my queen I acquired it from one of my mealss." Mab arched an eye brow she had once known a mind reader but he had died long ago. "Anyone I know?" "Yess you knew hiss grandfather he wass a very dedicated sservant of the old wayss, he cut of hiss on arm as a ssacrificce." "Fyara if you are intending to eat the remaining followers how do you expect us to survive?" The corner of Fyara's mouth twitched. "I am no fool my queen I do not feed upon anything, well within reasson. You ssee where the grandfather wass dedicated the grandsson wass not. He had planss to be betray uss." Mab sighed. "Such a waste, but now I assume you know I called you for a reason." "Why yess you have called me on me for a few of your problemss." "My problems are our problems Fyara." Fyara smirked. "Even that of your wizard? And-" Fyara waved her hand and a transparent image of Mordred appeared. "of coursse our handssome young princce." Fyaras snake like tongue slithered out at him. "Leave him alone! I brought you here to help save us my own problems are of little importance. When it comes to my sister I shall need your help. As she has temporarily 'slowed' me down." Fyara hissed she then waved her hand and the image of Mordred disappeared. "Ah yess our Lady of the Lake, a traitorouss wretch. I can help you my queen of coursse, but firsst you musst make a choicce. Be wisse with your ansswer after your decission iss made it will be irreverssable." Mab was curious as to why the decision would not be reservable. Fyara was the sort of creature who didn't make up her mind easily meaning nothing ever lasted long. Which could only mean that the effect would be one that lasts forever. Death. "Go ahead." Fyara reached in side the green robe she was wearing and drew out a most beautiful athamae. It was arms length with a white diamonded handle. A butterfly engraved in the middle of the blade and when it hit the light it flashed red. "The Enalight?" "Yess I can protect you with a ssimple charm but the Enalight will work well to your advantage. With the power I placce in it you sshould be back to full sstrength. It will take a night to sset in. No matter how you try to tell me that your problemss are not of importancce I know they are. If your ssoldierss are not completely focussed then you will loosse." Mab glared at her. "You are enjoying this aren't you." Fyara smirked. "I'd love to unfortunately I won't be here for the out come." "How do you intend to do this if you are not here?" "I leave my esssencce with you and when Mordred sees you his eyes will glow red. Only for a few ssecondss if he iss in 'love' so remember to pay attention. After that I can not be of sservicce." "Very well." Fyara smiled then kissed Mab on the cheek. "Now for my final act." Fyara held out her arm and drew her sleeve back. She then ran the blade through her skin. A sparkling light blue liquid began to flow. "May I?" Mab held her arm out and also drew back her sleeve. "Of course." Fyara ran the blade up Mab's arm and a dark red colour began to flow. She then gripped Mab's fore arm allowing there blood to mix. The colours contrasted together. Fyara then began to fade. "It iss sstrange, dying. You don't really think about it when you are immortal." Mab smiled at her. "Yes but I could not think of a more justified death for a warrior of the old ways. You will not be forgotten." Fyara gave a bitter sweet smile. "Yess and neither will you my queen, the old wayss will fall but they will risse again, to twicce there power..." With that what was left of Fyara disappeared and the athamae fell into Mab's hand. The scar icy blue, glittered across her arm then too disappeared. A surge of power ran to her head. She felt light headed the power had been a total shock to her system. **** It's great, now with mines I've kinda switched to ramble mode. Oh well guess Fyara wasn't staying around long

Merlin awoke in a strange room, in someone else's bed. He was still in his wet clothes, but felt better. And a lot warmer. His dreams had been strange, he barely could remember them, but he remembered...water.
Whoever had brought him here had been considerate enough to pull the blankets over him. The wizard grabbed his pounding head. What had actually happened? He remembered being locked up by the Lady of the Lake next to Mab and...Merlin closed his eyes. He remembered the water seeping out of the stones, filling his cell within minutes. Icy cold floods of green water, pulling him down, trying to drown him. And then there had been Mab...her voice - it had felt as if she had been in his head. He remembered her grabbing his hand. In fact, he could still feel her fingers wrapping around his. And she had made the wall collapse, setting him free and rescuing him from drowning.
"Sleeping beauty finally awakes." Morgan sat on a chair by the window, craddle this box of hers, smiling arrogantly at the wizard.
"Where am I?"
"Tintagel. Mab brought you here, in case you are wondering."
Merlin sat up in his bed and took his wet coat and shirt off. A strange chill had settled in his bones, and he was only slowly shaking it off.
"And why are you watching over me, Morgan? Mab and you aren't exactly on good terms these days."
"She made a promise to me which I would strongly advice her to keep."
