With his head almost in between his shoulders, Frik minded his business disposing of useless, broken crystals.
Her majesty never bothered to at least throw them onto one neat pile, no, they lay scattered around the whole cave. Well, at least she only did that in this part of her realm, all other areas and rooms were neat. Well, maybe not the library, but that was only because she owned so many books. And with every year, she seemed to get more of them. As if they were slowly mulitplying in front of Frik's eyes.
The gnome sighed almost inaudibly. He missed Morgan terribly, and even though he tried to keep track of everything she did, he seemed to have lost her recently. He wondered what happened to her... Strange things seemed to happen lately. But then again, with their whole world falling apart - was that really suprising?
"Frik." Her voice almost made him jump out of his skin. Just like always. But when he turned around to look at queen Mab, something was decidedly off.
She stood on top of the stairs, her hands at her sides. She looks just like she always did, perfect porcelain face free of any emotion. But her hair...came down in waves of darkness just like it always did, but she wore no jewels, gem stones or ribbons in it. That was unusual. And the dress she wore...was of an emerald green. But there was something else too...Frik just couldn't put his finger on it.
"Y-Yes your majesty?" he asked, stuttering a bit.
She looked a lot better, even though her eyes were slightly cast down, as if she was a bit tired.
"She is waiting for you. In Tintagel. You should hurry."
With that, she turned and left for her private chambers, not sparing the gnome another glance.
Frik was no fool. He left for Tintagel immedialty, not giving her time to change her mind. With Mab, no one ever knew for sure. ---
Mab sat down in front of the large mirror in her private chambers. She used it more for magical purposes than for anything else, but today she took time to look at her reflection. Fyara's spell had already started to work, the creature's blood had mingled with her own, there had been a battle in her body, but Mab's own blood had succeded. Fyara's powers were hers now. Her appearance hadn't really changed, but it was visible she had acquired new energies.
Mab looked at the pale witch that stared back at her from beyond cold glass. It was time to take some action.

You have done fabulously and well done for keeping going. ------------------ Morgan had just finished telling Merlin the deal. "Only a mad man would want to belong in a family with Mab." Morgan smirked. "Who says I wanted to be in a family with Mab. You may be a wizawd Mewlin but you still fail to see the biggew pictuwe." "What might the bigger picture be then?" Morgan sighed as if having to explain the simplest thing in the world. "Mowdwed is in..love with Queen Mab. As fow me I love Fwick but Mowdwed is my son so I also love him vewy much. My family is my son and lovew, Mab just happens to be a pawt of the package. A small pwice to pay for a loving family and all the powew I could wish don't you think?" "Are you forgetting that Mab almost killed you and your son watched. Without batting so much as an eye lid." "Of couwse not but that's in the past and I fowgive them." Merlin stood up. "She really does have you wrapped round her finger doesn't she." "No Mewlin I'm the one pulling the stwings now. Anyway I thought you would be a little mowe gweatful." "Greatful! To who?" Morgan got her feet also and smirked at Merlin yet again. "Mab as you know Mewlin she did save youw life I mean she has told us all thewe is nothing going on between you two. Not that I believe it of couwse. Howevew you do owe hew a debt." Merlin hit his bed like a tun of bricks. Could this day not get any worse for him? "Morgan? Morgan?" Frik called. "Oh Fwik my love!" Morgan then disappeared and by the sounds of crys of joy found Frik. "Even better now I can listen to both of them all night." Merlin rolled his eyes. He was happy for them but so tired of these games. ________ Sorry if it ain't great and sorry I haven't been about in a while.

*gives story a good kick* seriously guys, we gotta post more!
Mordred sunk back into the uncomfortable throne and sighed. People had been pestering him all day with questions and problems he had to solve. Who knew a king had so many duties! Well, most of his predecessors had been preoccupied with fighting multiple wars at the same time. Arthur had been the only one who had found the time to actually reign his country.
It was strange, being here now. His mother, Mab and Mordred himself had worked for years to make him king, but now...nobody had ever talked about what would be happening after that. He knew of kings who had been dethroned by their own men, killed in duels, or cowardishly poisened by their trusted servants.
But by the Gods, whatever Arthur could do, Mordred could do ten times better. Mordred wouldn't even give them a reason to want to get rid of him...if only he had someone he could rely on, someone he could trust...someone like his aunt.
Again, Mordred sighed as he remembered the brief kiss they had shared down in these strange dungeons. How her soft lips had felt against his, how her wet skin had felt under his hands... Not for the first time Mordred questioned his feelings for his aunt...Yes, he was clearly attracted to her, a simple glance could make his heart beat faster. She had always had this kind of effect on him, even when he had been a small child. Other than that, Mordred admired her power, her determination, her knowledge of politics and magic. She was...well, she was perfect. But did he love her?
Everytime Mordred asked this question, his heart would be silent. Then again, his heart didn't have a lot to say these days.
"Ermh...your Majesty...forgive me for interrupting...but your presence is demanded..." a servant, old enough to be Mordred's grandfather, called, while keeping a respectful distance.
"I am coming." Mordred quietly answered, and wished for his aunt to come back.
___
Okay, I am too lazy to check...so in case you know, please tell me: has Idath already been used in this story? I seriously can't remember.

Agreed - more posts. And yes lol you did. ;D
______________________________
Frik lay holding Morgan on a neatly made bed, her head on his shoulder and arm round his waist. "You agreed to have Mab and Mordred back? I know he's your son but he did.. well to put it truthfully watch you die." "Fwik you know I love you mowe than life it's self but if it came between you and him I'd pick him evewytime. With ow without Mab, he's still my son, my baby boy and I love him." Frik felt endeared about her love for her son but something panged at his heart. Deep down he knew Mordred would only bring Morgan pain. "Of course I do."
Mab knocked at Mordred's chamber which was occupied by Merlin and without waiting for a reply stepped through the door. Merlin lay flat on his back staring at the ceiling he knew who it would be. The question was what did she want this time. "How are you?" her voice was more soft than usual. Merlin's eyes remained fixed to the ceiling. "Confused but fine I suppose." Mab was standing in the middle of the room between Merlin and the door she didn't move. "What is it that confuses you dear Merlin? Why my sister betrayed you? Or why the one ingredient I forgot to add to you was common sense." her voice was still soft, too soft.
"Why she betrayed me yes and also why did you save me?" Mab sighed. "Poor Merlin, poor confused Merlin." Merlin finally gave her a glance but had to double take then sit up. She looked terrible almost tired, which was odd Mab was never tired. After all she didn't sleep. "What's wrong Merlin?" she felt fine and she just left the mirror she looked fine. "Mab are you feeling ok?" Her brow furrowed. "Of course! Why?" The tone was supposed to be angry Merlin could tell by her face still she sounded soft though.
He walked towards her. "You don't look well." She gave a smirk. "Merlin your concern is touching but I do not get ill disappear yes but not sickness." The queen then collapsed into Merlin's arms. "Mab?" He gently lay her on the floor her head on his lap. "Mab?!" his voice was louder this time but with no success. He could feel sweat pour from her body he needed to get help but had no way of getting out the room. Merlin then carried her over to the bed and lay her down. She'd never looked so peaceful. Mab was right she didn't get sick but wrong about him having no sense.
Sweat was water liquid and there was only one woman who worked with water and was capable of harming Mab. Merlin began calling for anyone who would listen. He would need Morgan and Mordred's help.

Uhh sweet idea! Funny how the Lady is actually one of the good guys in the movie, but we totally turned her into a villain. Serves her right for going down without a fight!
___
Almost unconsciously, Merlin brushed a stray tress of hair out of Mab's face. No, Mordred surely had returned to Camelot, he couldn't still be in Tintagel. That left Morgan. Who was still occupied with Frik. But even if she was willing to help...was there anything she could do? Magic was at the source of all things evil here, and even if Morgan's situation had changed significantly - she wasn't strong enough to fight the Lady's powers.
Merlin cradled Mab's cheek, softly calling her name. He didn't expect a reaction, but watched as a pearl of crystal clear water sprung up on her high forehead and trailed down her temple. He had to do something, he had to help her - even if it was just an obligation. Mab had saved HIS life, hadn't she?
Involuntarily, Merlin shook his head. How could the Lady possibly do something like this? She had almost killed him, and now she was attacking her own sister. Merlin and the Lady of the Lake had always been on friendly terms, she had helped him all his life, had told him about his mothers' and Ambrosias' fate, had given him Excalibur and her advice whenever he had needed it. She had always been on his side, she was one of the good ones...but now...
The wizard took a closer look at the Queen of the Old Ways. Her skin was perfect like fresh snow, and her raven curls freely fell around her shoulders, framing her face. He didn't even notice how his own thumb softly, slowly, brushed over her lips.
Then it hit him. There was someone who could help!
"IDATH!" Merlin called as loud as he could.

Thank you !! My mum thinks I'm nuts because I usually post an update at 4-5 in the morning so I'm talking to my self and explaining how it will all make sense. What can I say when I'm exhausted things are harder to process and I need alot of time so I pace up and down and talk. Yeah she betrayed Mab so we don't like her !! hehe _________________________ Mab slightly stirred Merlin then sat on the edge of the bed he looked expectantly around the room for Idath. There was no sign. "Mab." he tried again placing his hand over hers. It was the lady he was going to take his revenge on now. Mab had reason for everything she did he might not have understood or accepted all the same it was a reason. As for the lady it seemed to be just spite with her or was there something deeper? His thoughts were then interrupted by another voice in the room. "After everything that has happened even I have to admit this is quite a picture." Merlin looked up to see Idath standing before him. "Thank you for coming Idath." Merlin rose allowing Idath to resume where he'd been seconds before. "Difficult creature, Mab, beautiful no doubt but difficult." Merlin looked at him in confusion without turning round Idath continued. "You do know she saved your life." "Yes that's why I asked you to help me save her to return the favor." Idath stroked Mab's hand."Of course, but why did she save you?" Merlin sighed. "To keep me as something to bargain with?" "No Merlin it is simply because she loves you." Merlin looked at him in sheer disbelief, Mab wasn't capable of love. Was she? Well she was certainly capable of hate. "She hates me!" "You hate her ! Still she loves you all the same !" Merlin flooded with anger. "I love her too !" Great he'd done it now whether he did love her or not after all they were kind of family he didn't know. He slammed his head off the wall in frustration. _________________________ I'm so sorry this sucks I'm firing in the dark trying to write Idath I have no idea how to. Still twice I have made better attempts that were much longer. The first was great but my PC froze and it didn't post I started again and I copied to accident proof it. My Internet broke off again it didn't post then I try to paste it and that's right it didn't bloody well copy. So my apologies for the suckishness. Wish me luck this posts.

Tell me about it! When I wrote my last post, my net kept acting up and finally collapsed, after I wrote like half a page! Maybe we were cursed or something... --------
Idath turned his attention back to the unconscious goddess on the bed.
Even though her physical appearance hadn't changed, she looked considerably better than she did just a mere day ago. The Lord of Winter craddled her cheek, trying to get her to open her eyes. Her powers had grown, he could feel it, sense it, almost smell it. But why? What had she done? Well, there was no time for musing.
Idath had tried to stay out of the battle Mab and her sister had been fighting over the years, mostly because it had only been a disagreement, they never physically attacked each other. But now the Lady had overstepped her boundaries, this was just going too far.
He had to help. But how?
Another drop of water ran down her cheek and wet Idath's fingertips. He sighed quietly.
"I am taking her with me." he finally decided.
"What? Why?" Merlin rose an eyebrow.
"Well, it's not good for her to be here, in the land of the mortals. I can't properly help her here."
Idath slid his hands under her slim shoulders and the hollow of her knees. With ease he picked her up, gathering her in his arms.
"Thank you for calling me, Merlin. You did the right thing." With that, the Lord of Death was gone, leaving the wizard behind.
____
Idath entered Queen Mab's realm and carried her into her private chambers.
Technically, she'd be able to lock him out, considering they had broken up over a century ago. He thanked the Gods she had decided not to do so.
Softly, he put her onto her bed, the gleaming silk of her green gown spreading out around her.
"Green..." Idath whispered, and studied her calm face.
Yes, there was something different about her, but she was still the Queen of the Old Ways. And without thinking, Idath bent down and kissed her lips.
____
I know this sucks, especially considering the fact it took me ages to write it!

Water glimmered and swirled in a blur in front of her. The Lady of the Lake sat watching it tently. The mistress of magic, her power she had accounted for, but not her three prince's. The up start Mordred she would deal with easily. In Merlin who was now weak even if his blinded hatred was lifting was no match for her. Idath ... now here lay the problem with all three it was more trouble yes but Idath. Maybe it was time she played Mab at her own game with Idath. Yes that's it get Idath on side then declare war on Mab and her people. Her as queen and Idath wouldn't make a bad king to that. The only problem was Mab. Yet the only possible way to that was on fair grounds or it would as fore told back fire and kill her. Oh why could she not just hurry up and die. The other option was find that irritable mortal now immortal, mother of the half wit Mordred. Even if she did she had already done a deal with the queen of the old ways. What she could do was work her way up the ladder of Mab's heroes. Starting with the weakest link - Mordred then move up.That way she couldn't lose. The lady waved her hand the blurs eye fell upon Mordred. It began to draw in and become more focused. --- Mordred's thoughts: Helpless! No! He couldn't be helpless. Useless! No! He'd find a use for himself. For him to help Mab. He might- he thought- he knew. He loved her. More than MERLIN the traitor ever could, more than IDATH who abandoned her ever would. He would never do neither. BUT he was use- stood less a chance of defeating the likes of the lady of the lake in numbers than alone. Numbers wouldn't really help but... Merlin would. Merlin's thoughts: Helpless! No! He couldn't be helpless. Useless! No! He'd find a use for himself. For him to help Mab. He had a connection with Mab something he couldn't explain. He hated her...abit... alittle... she had a side he didn't like. They did need to talk but this wouldn't happen right now. He had trusted the lady and she had betrayed him and now he couldn't help Mab more than Frick or Morgan. He needed help he needed... gods help him... he needed Mordred. --- Well it could have been worse unfortunatley my fic fairy has left the building.

I actually had to do that once...felt really silly.
----
Mordred knew exactly how to get into the Land of Magic. His aunt had taken him there a couple of times when he had been nothing more than a small child, but Mordred remembered. Oh how he remembered! She had always come for him in the middle of a starry night when sleep had been the furthest thing from his mind. She had picked him up, and had taken him with her, showing him the miracles of a world he couldn't even begin to understand. His mother had found him tucked under his blankets the following mornings, and had never suspected a thing. And frankly, most times it had felt like a dream to him, too. Every minute with Mab had always felt like a precious gift, and Mordred was not willing to give this gift up.
He had left Camelot in charge of a few men he was able to trust...a little, but he had more pressing matters to worry about.
The gateway to the Land of Magic he found easily, it was like it had been calling him the whole time. Mordred took a deep breath and looked to the ground for a moment, trying to collect his thoughts. The feeling of desperation caused his insides to wrench. How he wished for things to be back to normal again, with his aunty doing well and being by his side every step of the way, how he missed her...but Mordred had learned how to clench his teeth and keep it together. Complaining had never helped anyone. Suddenly, a twig snapped and Mordred looked up, watching the man on the grey horse riding closer.
----
Mab's eyelids fluttered, and she sighed, pressing her palm against her temple. A few raven curls slipped through Idath's fingers. He couldn't help but smile. She was the only being he knew of that actually showed positive reactions to the kiss of death...
Her opal coloured eyes opened fully, an almost shocked expression appeared on her face. "Idath..." she whispered, a feeling of dread clearly audible in her voice, as she remembered Fyara's spell. The smile on his face slowly vanished, and lines of worry she had come so aquainted with appeared on his forehead.
"...you are awake now, it's all going to be alright, don't worry! I am here..." Idath rested his hand on her hip. "I am here..."
"Idath look at me!" she ordered, grabbing his chin, looking deeply into his eyes...no, they weren't glowing red, like Fyara had told her. They held their original, black colour.
"Oh thank Gods..." she mumbled.
----
"I have been waiting for you." Mordred said sternly as Merlin jumped off Sir Rupert's back. "Oh have you?" the wizard asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes...I do not exactly like you, I am pretty sure you know that, but I am asking for your help now. We need to work together now. That...or something terrible will happen, and you know that just as well as I do."
Merlin sighed, and took a moment to think about all this before answering.

The sickening truth was that Mordred needed Merlin and so vice versa and there was no way around it. A mad imagine conjured in his head of Mab and the lady laughing there heads of at the spectacle they had planned. How very Mab he thought. "Well as it happens I was looking for you to." Mordred looked shocked. "Really what for?" "The same reason as you were looking for me, no doubt." Mordred didn't speak thoughts of Merlin's betrayal running through his head. "Mab?" That was it he said her name and Mordred punched him in the face.
A leaf dripped near by a tiny silver/grey eye in it watching eagerly. "Mmmmm Mab has three in her favor it now seems. No matter I can fix that." The eye blinked and disappeared. After a 20 minute fight interrupted by Sir Rupert both men broke up. Merlin's nose was burst and he held his ribs, Mordred's eyes puffy and swollen his lip gushing with blood. Darkness was setting in around them. "Well now you have got that over with we may as well rest until morning." Merlin stated. "I don't need to do what you say!" Merlin shrugged.
"No, but I'm going to make a fire, have some food and have some rest then leave tomorrow. Do as you wish." Mordred folded his arms in a sulk before helping Merlin with wood. They later ate rabbit in silence. "Why did you betray Mab?" Mordred asked he was gazing at the fire. "It wasn't like that, she k- affected a lot of things in my life." Merlin stared at the stars. "That deserved to almost take her life?" "No I suppose not and if I were you Mordred I wouldn't be so trusting."
Mordred looked at him. "Why might that be?" "You are dealing with very powerful, manipulative people. And whether you like it or not, you are merely instrument in there game. Goodnight Mordred" Merlin turned over before he could reply. Though Mordred continued to mutter to Sir Rupert who was also sleeping about how Merlin was the instrument.
