Thanks for teaching us an easy way to tell the difference between Japanese and Chinese writing. Unfortunately, in my rush to post the previous entry in this thread, I failed to write my initial thoughts which were, "It's either Chinese or Japanese." Because I'm in a hurry and always nervous when I post, I inevitably make the mistakes I try the most to avoid. Sorry.
Thank you for providing so many informative and helpful links.
If you decide to purchase it and find that it isn't dubbed in Japanese, I would be happy to buy it from you. Reimbursing you what paid via paypal, if you're interested.

Please use this thread to post information and/or photos of officially released items concerning Merlin. That includes promotional items, such as photos and press-kits, along with DVDs, VHS and/or anything else related to the mini-series. Here's a Merlin promotional T-Shirt I found on eBay.

Note that there is only one air-date shown, something that I've seen on only one other item thus far. Which leads one to think that Merlin was at one time meant to air as a movie rather than mini-series. These exist? Where did you get them!! Wow, you’re a master of tracking down all of these foreign covers! Really want to hear the Japanese version. White faces and Japanese dubbing is always so freaking weird lol. It never feels weird when I see the reverse: Japanese faces with English dub, because so many Asians are raised in the States. *nods in agreement* the hell dude? you're like a Merlin ninja you've got everything! Meanwhile me: *blinks at other languages* *shrugs* im just here for the pretty covers

The postcard came from eBay. I search as often as I can but it's usually fruitless. It's difficult to know how the sellers will list items. Searching "Merlin" is not a recommended pastime. I'm sorry if I ever implied that I own all of the items listed in this thread. I wish that were the case. Most are images found through Google searches. After discovering so many variations of the covers, I thought it would be best to achieve them on here.

Promotional Odds and Ends. I found the first photo on Google images a year or two ago. It was a former eBay listing. The second was found on an Angelfire site. From what I can make out The Shooting Script is in both photos, along with a miniature replica of Excalibur, a screener VHS, The Magical Making of Merlin VHS. The photos look as though they're part of a press kit. The papers might be press releases.

XD its been listed in my profile for forever: landunderhill.angelfire.com/Something I created as a kid when I was still playing around with HTML, Flash, etc. I found the image on ebay many, many, many years ago. No idea what it was since I didn't buy it.

Recently found the UK edition of The Shooting Script on eBay. Very hard to find in the U.S. Also bought the 3 Film Collection with the hope it might contain a clearer transfer. That didn't turn out to be the case, but there's a lovely photo of old Merlin on the back.

I was finally able to find a promotional Merlin box on eBay last year. It was apparently sent to people of importance as a means if publicity for the mini-series. It is made to resemble the first edition DVD/VHS case and a book at the same time. (Showing the special edition DVD as a size comparison.) Inside it contains a copy of The Shooting Script, a VHS of Merlin and The Making of Merlin, along with a small metal knife which is supposed to be Excalibur. The front of the box has a panel which slides out to reveal its cover in color - the screen before it tints it in grayscale.

This is amazing! You keep finding items and covers we never even knew existed. Small knife Excalibur is adorable. Behold, I have the sword of Legend, I could rule Britannia, I could cast great magic, but what I do is... I use it as a letter opener. This seems a very Merlin thing to do really.
