Please use this thread to post information and/or photos of officially released items concerning Merlin. That includes promotional items, such as photos and press-kits, along with DVDs, VHS and/or anything else related to the mini-series. Here's a Merlin promotional T-Shirt I found on eBay.
A promotional postcard.
Note that there is only one air-date shown, something that I've seen on only one other item thus far. Which leads one to think that Merlin was at one time meant to air as a movie rather than mini-series.

Awesome, I never realised there were promotional T-Shirts floating around out there! In terms of other official merchandise that I know about, there's the Shooting Script Book (Link to page on Goodreads) - this contains the shooting script of "Merlin", a plot summary, black and white stills of the cast and some of the filming, interviews with Steve Bannon, Sam Neill, Isabella Rosselini and Miranda Richardson and some brief filmography information for the main cast and crew members. It's interesting to see where the shooting script differs from the actual released film - in particular, the start of the film is set up quite differently - you have Old Merlin's introduction, then it jumps back to sometime either before or just after Arthur has become king, and we have a couple of scenes of Merlin with Sir Rupert, Nimue and the Father Abbott, then it jumps back to the scene near the start of part 2 where Arthur comes to Merlin to tell him that Uther is dead, the script then largely follows the film until after the griffin attack, and then when Arthur asks Merlin to tell him about his father, THEN it jumps back again to what actually became the start of the miniseries, but with an additional scene between Mab and Gudrun (the priestess at the start of the film that you hear screaming for Mab). It's a shame that the Mab/Gudrun scene was dropped, because we don't really see any still-faithful human followers of the Old Ways other than her, and also because in the shooting script it really seems to be this scene that gives Mab the push to start fighting again in earnest and create Merlin. Perhaps the creators thought it introduced a bit too much moral ambiguity to "give a face" to the persecuted followers of the Old Ways when their primary story is about Merlin bringing down their religion? Or it was just cut for time. I definitely understand why they changed around the beginning though - too many time jumps makes it confusing, and also in some ways frames the story as revolving around Arthur's birth and ascent to the throne, rather than the story being centred around Merlin. There's also the Trevor Jones soundtrack CD - I believe you can find most of the tracks on Youtube, but last time I checked the CD itself is reasonably easy to obtain from Amazon. I don't even know where to start on the different DVD versions, but I will try and have a look through my different versions when I'm back home!

I hope you find the time to look through them all. It would be great to see what you've found! US The Shooting Script front and back covers. On the back of one of my DVDs The Shooting Script has different cover art.
