I love how simple that is. It's just Tarja, + forum, +.com

The new single BB should be out soon, and one of the bonus tracks on it is a dance remix of said song. You can hear it on the link below, if you're really desperate, but don't say I didn't warn you, it's long and rather horrendous... www.myspace.com/djorkidea

Holy Lord, Nightwish ^.^
This place is perfect, I feel that I'm not the only one that likes Sweeney Todd, Labyrinth, Merlin, and Nightwish! This does not seem real. *hits herself in the face to see if she is actually alive*
Nightwish is my absolute favorite band. I have too many favorite songs, but probably my preferred albums are "Wishmaster" and "Once."
On to Anette... *coughs* I'm learning to like her a bit more. She has a beautiful voice, but she does not suit NW. Sounds like a whole other band to me. And I have seen some of her live stuff... in my opinion, she doesn't have what it takes to get away with the old songs meant for Tarja. But I highly prefer Tarja.
I adore Tarja's solo CD. I prefer the old Nightwish, but I feel that she is much better than the new NW is doing. I never recognized that I didn't give her enough credit as it is for her amazing voice, as some more amazing-ness...ness... of her voice has been revealed in her solo stuff.
But I am just too annoyed that they kicked her out.

Hello Beyond Words, I can already tell you and I will have issues with our favorite pairings. Actually, that clashing might be cool. ;D
My Winter Storm is AWESOME. I am totally addicted.
Yes, this is the place for you~! I love all of that (Labyrinth, Sweeney Todd, Nightwish, Merlin) and more! (Phantom of the Opera, Neil Gaiman, ect.)

LOL, indeed, seems there is a high correlation between Merlin and Nightwish fans. Good taste, evidently. ;D
As far as MWS goes, I do find it a good album (with the exception of Poison, which is a bad, bad cover), but one I have to be in a specific mood to listen to. Methinks the songs sounded better live, too. Though I fear I may be pelted with stuff for this, I do prefer DPP though. Tarja's vocals on MWS are beautiful, and the songs aren't bad, especially taking into account it's her first "proper" solo album, and there were loads of different composers for many of the songs, but I think Nightwish takes the musical edge, and I'm in the mood to listen to it more often.
That said, neither album compares with the glories of Century Child/Wishmaster/Oceanborn.
Although Marco's beard does come pretty damn close...
@beyond Words- Excellent choice of favourite albums, esp. Wishmaster- any particular favourite songs?

The mood required for that seems to be the only mood I'm ever in. I adore how she's gone semi visual-kei and Cirque du Soleil.

Well, I was hanging around on Youtube, and, though I really should be doing revision, I thought I'd try and gather together more decent quality vids of most of the songs they've been performing live at the recent concerts (left out some of the songs where I couldn't find any OK audio recordings). I know some of you have probably seen some of them before on the official Nightwish Youtube thingy, but there we go: Dark Passion PlayPoet and the Pendulum (P1)Poet and the Pendulum (P2)Bye Bye BeautifulAmaranthCadence of Her Last BreathSaharaWhoever Brings the Night7 Days to the WolvesOnceDark Chest of WondersWish I Had An AngelNemoCreek Mary's BloodThe SirenHigher Than HopeCentury ChildDead to the WorldEver DreamWishmasterCome Cover Me- pretty bad audio, if anyone has any better links, feel free to provideWishmasterOceanbornSacrament of WildernessI shall try and add some more vids tomorrow, a lot of the songs they've performed are only shown in vids of not great quality or not full length, alas. Still, hopefully more will be added at some point by helpful concert goers. NB: Have added some more vids- they're not all fantastic audio, but they're still fairly audible, in most of the cases audience noise is the main problem. Picture wise however, several are pretty lacking, since I chose to go for good audio rather than good picture, and in several instances, the two don't seem to occur together.

But live, Tarja blows Nightwish out of the water. EDIT: Tarja should blatantly have her own thread here. Ah, yep, she probably should... I saw Tarja at the Warm up concert in London, and she was indeed fantabulous- though these Youtube vids are as close as I have come to seeing NW live to compare *wails* *must remedy this when she has time and money* Also, I added a favourite album poll, where you can pick your top two albums. Because I saw the clicky "Add Poll" button. Anywayses, I've picked Century Child as one of my options- undoubtedly my favourite album on the list, containing a lot of my favourite Nightwish songs. Currently I'm still debating whether to put Wishmaster or Oceanborn as my other choice, though. I don't think there's any songs I really dislike on either, though there's a couple on OB I'm not that fussed about (The Riddler, Swanheart). And both of them have songs that feature in my top 10 NW songs, or close enough (Wishmaster, FantasMic/ Gethsemane, Moondance, Pharoah Sails to Orion) I love the other albums, too, don't get me wrong, and they all have some really standout songs (I've been listening to 7 Days to the Wolves and 10th Man Down a lot, recently, for example), but as a whole, those three have to take the lead.... *wonders if she can change the poll to top 3* *gives up and just picks CC*

Wow...
Of the 5 Nightwish albums I own (Wishmaster, Century Child, Once, Dark Passion Play, and the Highest Hopes: Best of Nightwish) I have 44 songs on my ipod, plus 3 I have bought off itunes. I still don't have Angels Fall First and Oceanborn. But I pretty much like all the songs. Hard to chose just a couple ^^
*clears throat*
Wishmaster... She is My Sin, The Kinslayer, Wanderlust, Two for Tragedy, Wishmaster, and Bare Grace Misery
Century Child... End Of All Hope, Dead To The World, Ever Dream, Ocean Soul, Feel For You, and The Phantom Of The Opera
Once... Dark Chest Of Wonders, Wish I Had An Angel, Planet Hell, The Siren, Ghost Love Score, Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan, and Live To Tell The Tale
Ghost Love Score is probably one of my favorite songs. It was probably watching the End Of An Era DVD, and seeing that performance, it really effected me. And I didn't include Dark Passion Play, cause nothing really catches me. I listen to it, but nothing really outstanding to me. 'Course, after listening to the other albums, my standards are set very high.

I still don't have Angels Fall First and Oceanborn. But I pretty much like all the songs. Hard to chose just a couple ^^ Get Oceanborn! Speedily! Oceanborn has Gethsemane and Moondance, making it automatically awesome!!! Although, I will say that the album as a whole did take a while for me to get into, but I love it all the better for it now. LOL, tis hard indeed just to choose a couple of Nightwish songs. I know I sometimes have bits of songs I like more than the rest of the song itself (the end of MPG, I love, the rest is good, but I often skip to the ending, and in The Siren I usually skip to the instrumental bit in the middle). I think my favourites from each album probably look something like this: Angels Fall First: Elvenpath, Tutankhamen, Nymphomaniac Fantasia (music only, lyrics are quite bad, LOL, even Tuomas himself admits that) Oceanborn: GETHSEMANE! MOONDANCE! Also, Pharoah Sails to Orion, Stargazers, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean, and sometimes Sacrament of Wilderness (this one varies- I like the change in keyboards they've added to the live version recently, jigginess is always welcomed). Wishmaster: She Is My Sin, Kinslayer, Wishmaster, Dead Boy's Poem, FantasMic Century Child: End of All Hope, Dead to the World, Bless the Child, Beauty of the Beast, second half of Slaying the Dreamer, Ever Dream, Feel For You (especially the bit in the middle with Marco) Once: Dark Chest of Wonders, Creek Mary's Blood, Ghost Love Score Dark Passion Play: Poet and the Pendulum, 7 Days to the Wolves, Master Passion Greed, Last of the Wilds- The Islander is nice, though ballads aren't really my thing, and I listened to Bye Bye Beautiful for ages, but I think it's reached the "saturation" stage now, LOL, like WIHAA has done in the past.

Ahem, sorry for the double post, but in an effort to revive the thread (and nothing at all to do with gloating), I just got my tickets for Bloodstock Open Air Festival in August, which Nightwish will be headlining! *dances merrily*
Also Alestorm and Eluveitie will be there, for those who share my joyous love for these bands.
*dances even more merrily*

I just bought my tickets to see Nightwish August 30th up in Massachusetts..it'll be like a 40min drive there from where I live lol...which is in Connecticut. ;D But anyways..I have pretty much almost all of Nightwish's albums and singles, but no dvd's at the moment. I own Angels Fall first, Angles Fall First[Remastered], Bless the Child[single], Bless the Child[digipak](nightquest in japanese version is on this), Century Child, Deep Slient Complete[single], Demo(the forever moments, nightwish, and etiainen), End of Innocence[live], Ever Dream[single], From Wishes to Eternity[live], Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan[single], Nemo[collector's edition, single], Oceanborn, Once, Over the Hills and Far Away[ep], Sacrament of Wilderness[single], Sleeping Sun(4 ballads of the eclipse), The Carpenter[single], Walking in the Air[single], I wish I had an Angel[single], Wishmaster, Wishmastour 2000[ep]. I am very excited to see them and curious as to how Anette sings Tarja's songs. Oh...and did I mention that this is going to be my first concert??

LUCKY! I haven't been to a concert yet, either Whoever scedules the concerts does not like me. No matter what band it is that I want to see, the concert is impossible to make. Either it's not close to me, or it's on a day that I have other plans that for some unknown reason are more important than Nightwish. (Yeah, not possible for anything to be more important than Nightwish, except maybe life in some situations) At least Tuomas has said that he's working on a new album, and hopefully there will be a tour for that one, too. Heh, Anette singing Tarja songs ^.^ I have audio of two complete DPP tour concerts. My opinion would be that Tarja of course does the best version, but of course I'd be saying that. I was shocked when I heard Sleeping Sun. If she was a little quieter, it would be surprisingly beautiful XD. But, yet again, Tarja gets the gold on that song. But she doesn't sound even 10% as bad with Tarja songs as I'd have thought.

Ah, lucky indeed! Nightwish were fucking great live at Bloodstock, I fear I cannot agree with Tosca that Tarja blows them away live. Alas, however, their set was cut short, due to some earlier bands overrunning *wails* But great, nevertheless, and filled with explodey goodness. I hope you have a great time at the concert, and I stand in awe of your Nightwish collection! About Anette singing Tarja songs- she certainly sings them very differently from Tarja (naturally), which version you like best is just down to your own tastes. I personally think the changes are made with varying degrees of success- The Siren, she sounds brilliant on, IMO, others not so much. If you'recurious, there's a link to some videos from the Lowlands festival in HQ, should give you some idea: uk.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=475D4DD19473C307

They each have their own style and both are amazing singers. As far as my Nightwish collection...lol...I have friends that helped me out with that. I live in the US and have to have most of them shipped here since they only sell the main albums here and only their new single "the islander." I think I forgot to mention that I also have "Dark Passion Play" album and "The Islander" single. ;D I hope I will have fun...I can't wait! XD Thanks very much for the links..it gave me a great idea on what to expect.
