So, on Merlin we can visibly see that Sam Neill has vivid green eyes, then on the second cover they are green, but not as strong. Then in the movie itself, his eyes seem to take on a blue-ish tent to them. Am I the only one who caught this or did someone else notice? They could have just air-brushed the cover (especially the first one) but then again maybe I'm just seeing things. What do you all think?

Um, contacts maybe? But if, why did he not wear them all the time?

Well, I can safely say that, nope, I never did notice that. But covers do tend to get prettified a lot.

They didn't do it well on the Stepford Wives cover. The eye-makeup is not the same on both sides.
Tsk.

There's one film cover I remember - I think it may have been 'Alexander' - where all the eyes were prettified until they were practically glowing in the dark. It would have been alright, except one of the dudes on it started to look suspiciously like my gran. But back to Merlin, I don't think I've ever seen anybody with eyes that green. And they do look rather out of place, imho.

Meh, only a wee tiny bit. I suppose they wanted them to be "intensive/fascinating/etc/pp/the whole bally lot".

I see what you mean- when you look at the eyes on the Merlin's Apprentice cover, they don't seem as vivid. Of course, it could be because the picture basically focuses solely on his eyes, and they may well look more vivid colse up, but I suspect they were touched up slightly to make them look more shiny and bright, etc.

Yeah, that's true. A few days I went to watch Merlin and I saw the cover and remarked about his eyes, so I kept a close eye on them as the movie progressed, and saw they seemed to dim a little.

LOL, we need no excuses. Although, it would be a good one to tell my mum.
Mum: Oh, we're not watching bloody Merlin again... Himiko: *stares at screen intently* Hush, mother- I am conducting research into the brightness of Sam Neill's eyes.

I would love to see her face if you told her that. I know my mom would stare at me as if I was crazy.

My family are all crazy. Not as crazy as me, mind, but they are used to my craziness, so she probably wouldn't be that bothered by it.

Yes, mothers are a very adaptable species. ;D *notes that she refers to her mother as a separate species a little too often*
