Damn you all with your many responses!!!! Family troubles- much as I love Mab, I have to say, Merlin really really wins in the family troubles stakes. He has 3 mothers, one of whom dies in childbirth before he gets to know her, one of them dies after raising him, and one of them he spends his whole life fighting. He gets magic-raped by his aunt, and produces Jack. I mean, you've got to admire the fact that he's not a gibbering wreck by the time he grows old/ dies (Yeah, Merlin's Apprentice, you are the King of Continuity)- I mean, finding out you fathered such a fail as Jack would surely break anyone's brain. Its a shame they didn't get a bit funkier with the timeline in MA, really. Merlin could have given his son to Vortigern, since he kept trying to beget children. Though I seem to recall he eventually just gave up and decided to build castles instead... Merlin looking human- Whilst she's gazing into the crystal before she creates Merlin, she mutters "He's perfect", and at that point he looks like Sam Neill, so yeah, maybe she does find Sam Neill sexy ;P. Actually, in the books it describes the image as "a beautiful young man with light brown hair and piercing dark eyes"... Anyway, I digress. Its only after this point that she realises she can't create a fullgrown fae, and he'll need to be half mortal, etc, so she obviously always intended for him to look as he looked (i.e. Sam Neill), fae or not. I suppose that even if he had been a fae, he could have conceivably looked that way- I mean, Mab looks inhuman, but she could probably pass as one. Perhaps had Merlin been Fae, he would have had the "glittery skin" look to him, and other minor "non-human-isms" and still looked mostly the same... Mab's taste in men- Arwen, ye mention Merlin and Vortigern as examples. I always got the impression with Vortigern it was more his ... not sure personality is quite the right word, but his attitude. His determination not to believe in anything, the fact that he willingly defied her, etc. I don't really like him, myself, but the man's got balls aplenty. I could be wrong, but yeah, I see it more as Mab being intrigued with the man, rather than his looks, in that case- other cases too, I'd imagine. With Merlin, since at that early point he's just an image in a crystal, I don't really know. Either he's really to her taste lookswise, or he just looks strong and leader-like? I reckon she probably does go for the pretty ones sometimes, too... its all about variety! And being alive as long as she has, she'd probably be glad for some. Merlin's wardrobe- its much less so early on in the film, where he's a young man (complete with Ambrosia-knitted-cardigan ) and when he's living alone in the woods. Even when he's Vortigern's prisoner, he's not dressed especially oddly- he's a contrast to the others in Vortigern's court, but I imagine that's because they're generally better off and richer dressed than he is. Once he joins Uther's court, and later, Arthur's, being their advisor/ wizard is kind of his job, so I suppose he marks it out more. By the time of Arthur's reign, of course, a lot of people in Britain are turning to Christianity, and becoming more critical of the Old Ways- we see it in Uther/Arthur's own court, where Merlin is an undoubted asset, and still treated with vague hostility by some. It couldn't have hurt to make it public that he had magic, and was capable of defending himself. And with Vortigern, he makes his powers public to escape first execution, then the dungeons. So, yeah.. mostly for the sake of his safety or benefit in the early part of the film/ books, and later on, mostly because it was his "role" in the courts he was part of- bear in mind, he goes for years between seeing Mab, most of the time, he can't spend all the time plotting how to beat her, he's a fairly prominent member of Arthur's inner circle, too, and part of that is being "that wizard dude". IMO

Damn you all with your many responses!!!!hehehe Mab looks inhuman, but she could probably pass as one.If she toned down her colors she could definitely pass as human. But no way would I want her to, she's gorgeous! I reckon she probably does go for the pretty ones sometimes, too... its all about variety! And being alive as long as she has, she'd probably be glad for some.yeah! Another idea is maybe fae don't care so much about looks because such things can be so easily changed and masked at will. On the other hand, the fae seem very theatrical and eccentric so I think they do care about their own appearances to some degree. complete with Ambrosia-knitted-cardiganI hate that thing. It's hideous. I like everything you said about Merlin's wardrobe. What's strange is I think I understand Mab as a character better than Merlin. He's sort of an enigma to me. I just can't get a grasp of what he really thinks about people and the world. He loves Nimue and hates Mab. But as for the others...he's so stoic or something. Maybe I understand Mab better because we've analyzed her more or Miranda plays her with more depth or something. This kinda goes along with the way Merlin seems to have no religion or not much opinion beyond "destroy mab". Has anyone ever watched "Wizards of Waverly Place", its a kid's tv show on the disney channel, but one of the main characters "Alex" reminds me of Mab because she's so devious. lol She has an older brother named "Justin" and mostly he hates her deviousness, but occasionally he gets in on the act to give their dad, who is their magic-teacher, a hard time. She also has a younger brother named "Max" and he is quite odd and eccentric. The whole family is fairly odd but fun. Like I said its really a pre-teen kids show, but I can still watch disney movies and enjoy them. They're still fairytales even if they're young and innocent. You can also imagine them darker or write darker versions for yourself. What's funny is that Alex and Justin are brother and sister, but the actors have some interesting chemistry and it comes off as romantic cat-fights instead of sibling rivalry. www.fanhistory.com/wiki/Justin/AlexIt's the most popular pairing in the series despite the fact that it's incest. None of the other pairings have the chemistry that those two actors do. It's too bad the show made them siblings instead of friends. One of my fav lines is when Alex has just cast a truth spell and doesn't realize it's affecting her too. In the middle of the party, she shouts out "hey everybody I'm a wizard." And everybody in the room looks up and says "huuuh?!" Here I uploaded the clip: View My Video This is the most Mab-like dress Alex has too. And there's so many other good lines. I just feel like "hey if Mab were fourteen-year-old modern girl this is exactly the sort of mischief she'd be up to." lmao From Disney channel to Spartacus and Camelot, I have quite a range don't I? It's magic, never believe it's not so --Wizard Alex singing fav quotes off the top of my head: Justin--"got it! Note to self: stop listening to evil sister." Justin---"quick Alex! I need your sneaky conniving advice of how to get out of it." Justin---"Thanks Alex! You always know the right wrong-thing to do!" *alex grins hugely* Max---"I understand now... Our sister is truly evil. And it's not just fun-evil! It's evil-evil! Dad says if this should ever happen, we should run away and change our names!" *Max runs away, while Alex stands there rolling her eyes with impatience.*

"and when it is time for him to be born, he will rip you open like the good little monster I designed him to be." rofl too much, can't breath I'm having visions of Twilight. Yes, demonic spawn kill bella! kill bella! hum, no idea what you're talking about, I don't follow Twilight. It sure sounds nice. Down with Twilight Bella hehe you've got to admire the fact that he's not a gibbering wreck by the time he grows old/ dies (Yeah, Merlin's Apprentice, you are the King of Continuity)- rofl yes respect Merlin Vortigern trying to beget children and his tower won't stand ew please tell me we are not going to discuss that. I reckon she probably does go for the pretty ones sometimes, too... its all about variety! And being alive as long as she has, she'd probably be glad for some. I agree Another idea is maybe fae don't care so much about looks because such things can be so easily changed and masked at will. On the other hand, the fae seem very theatrical and eccentric so I think they do care about their own appearances to some degree. All I can say is: fae like to play. To me it's like fae can be nonchalant about appearances -of their own and of others- because they know it's 'only an illusion'. If you could give yourself any appearance why wouldn't you experiment? They prefer to be beautiful of course. They must love the foolish attention mortals give them because of their beauty. "Wizards of Waverly Place" nope never watched that either. I uploaded the cliplovely dress, glove thingies and necklace. "hey if Mab were fourteen-year-old modern girl this is exactly the sort of mischief she'd be up to." 14 year-old Mab is hard to imagine. Strangely Mab in modern times is easier to imagine. She already appears to be quite outside of time. From Disney channel to Spartacus and Camelot, I have quite a range don't I? Yes you have That's one of the things I like so much about this forum. We can talk about absolutely anything. And compare it to Queen Mab of course.

no idea what you're talking about, I don't follow Twilight. Edward got Bella pregnant and the vampire baby was killing her and eventually chewed its way out. XD and then bella died yay! I've read the books, which are mediocre at best, and I've seen the movies, which really suck. But I'll keep seeing the movies because I want to see bella ripped open. The next movie that comes out this November stops right before baby rips mum open I think. The next and final movie after that is the one where she finally dies and becomes a vampire.
14 year-old Mab is hard to imagine. Strangely Mab in modern times is easier to imagine. She already appears to be quite outside of time. ok maybe Mab's daughter? omg, I can't imagine how evil Alex would be if Mab had raised her. She would actually have a mother that indulged her bad behavior. bhwahahaha! Her mother and father in the show are always punishing her for being bad and disobeying and all kinds of stuff. The typical 'obey your parents' kid-show.
I just think it's interesting Alex says "hey everyone I'm a wizard" because she's female. Mab never says "I'm a sorceress" or "I'm a wizard" or "I'm a faery" to anyone. Would Mab be referred to as a wizard or a sorceress or a faery? Is "wizard" only for males?
We can talk about absolutely anything. And compare it to Queen Mab of course. haha YES!!
All I can say is: fae like to play. yum

I'm having visions of Twilight. Yes, demonic spawn kill bella! kill bella! hum, no idea what you're talking about, I don't follow Twilight. It sure sounds nice. Down with Twilight Bella hehe I don't follow Twilight either, but I did hear about the whole demon baby thing from the hardcore fangirls at my school. Anyway, forget Bella- make the demon spawn kill Nimue! XD you've got to admire the fact that he's not a gibbering wreck by the time he grows old/ dies (Yeah, Merlin's Apprentice, you are the King of Continuity)- rofl yes respect MerlinAs much as I'm against the guy, ur right I gotta give him points there Another idea is maybe fae don't care so much about looks because such things can be so easily changed and masked at will. On the other hand, the fae seem very theatrical and eccentric so I think they do care about their own appearances to some degree. It's not something they worry about. They like to look good, but they always do no matter what so they never have to waste too much time on it. They prefer to be beautiful of course. They must love the foolish attention mortals give them because of their beauty. Like when the old soothsayer guy was fawning over Mab after she appeared to him. She just took it in stride, like "Oh look another follower." "Wizards of Waverly Place" nope never watched that either. I have! I loved that show when I was 13. Well, still do love it ;D That's one of the things I like so much about this forum. We can talk about absolutely anything. I can see it now, she'd jump at the chance to do magic (and would've gotten the hang of it a lot faster than Merlin, too). But I can't really see her using her powers to hurt people (Christians). I just think it's interesting Alex says "hey everyone I'm a wizard" because she's female. Mab never says "I'm a sorceress" or "I'm a wizard" or "I'm a faery" to anyone. Would Mab be referred to as a wizard or a sorceress or a faery? Is "wizard" only for males?I'd think sorceress is most appropriate, but I don't know. She's kind of like a faery and a goddess and a sorceress all in one.

Like when the old soothsayer guy was fawning over Mab after she appeared to him. She just took it in stride, like "Oh look another follower." I think that's what anyone famous has to do. Most celebrities take their crazy fans in stride too. calm and cool and collected = totally poised
I have! I loved that show when I was 13. Well, still do love it awesome!
But I can't really see her using her powers to hurt people (Christians). true, Alex isn't like that. But she would love playing tricks and causing mischief as long as there were no serious injuries. But I think Alex's innocence and good nature comes from the fact she was raised in modern times with good parents. If she had been raised back in old days by Mab she would probably be a lot rougher because those times were harsh.

Of course Merlin would run away Yeah it's sort of his thing. He runs away, then shouts at her from a distance. That's the plot of the film until about 15 minutes before the end. LMAO! When I read that I just had this vision of Merlin standing with Mab then us watching him run away from her long the beach for like three hours then when he cant even see her no more start shouting. I wonder how young Merlin would react to a father figure, in the midst of the whole triple-mother chaos er he'd be very confused and possibly reject the father figure as well.Mmmm, well if Merlin had a father figure it'd depend on who it was for me to decide. How y'all think Elissa would have felt about the Merlin's mother issue? no idea, we don't really get to know her. I image pagan goddess wanting to use her son to achieve world domination would upset any mother (Morgan being the exception).Baring in mind Elissa was also a Christian. However human Merlin might appear he is very keen on telling people that he is a wizard and adjusts his wardrobe to be 'more than human'.Hmmm, Merlin is confusin maybe because he doesn't necessarily hate or pity or whatever magick but only it's mistress. Remember she wanted to create a fully-fae leader in the first place because all of her human-leaders kept betraying her. Everyone keeps betraying her! Including the half human. *still thinks Idath and Mab should have birthed a babah* Lately my dreams have turned kafkaesque.I was so proud of the Mab dream I had the another night where she went all Blind Mag on me ;D We need counselor Mab for a group session XD HAHAMab also needs a counsellor to help with Merlin. I'll have to accept the fact that my Mab era is over nor more books to read no chance of another movie. aw you poor thing. You shouldn't look at it that way. HP will never be finished for me though I've read all books and seen all films. That's the thing though cos with me when something finishes despite me saying with Charmed I'd never stop obsessing I did. Im passionate about things usually for two-three years after it's finished and I will be obsessed but after that I'll not bother with it any more. then in the second movie he has a kid with his aunt. A kid who clearly has issues. He is untroubled by the fact that he is the child of Merlin and an evil enchantress. He doesn't seem very upset when Merlin is gone and kills his mother after she made sure he could live.*shrugs* may have gotten on with his grandmother then, I mean his aunt,....okay his Mab. Wait no that makes it sound like Mab and Jack are screwing, okay scratch that you get what I mean. I'd probably head butt Mab at that if I were Elissa I mean Im a die hard Mab girl but the fact is if I had to get knocked up no sex involved, carry a kid around, get kicked out my home, go through the agony of labour and then die at the end to get told Im not the kids mother I'd be very pissed. Life sucks.Defo! HA! Look Im sympathising with another character in Merlin apart from Mab *does victory dance* indeed she'd probably say something else like this too: "Why are you complaining? You should feel honored that out of all the women on earth I chose you to carry my demonic spawn." lmao "and when it is time for him to be born, he will rip you open like the good little monster I designed him to be."The worrying thing is that is exactly how Mab would react I'm having visions of Twilight. Yes, demonic spawn kill bella! kill bella!*flicks ear* we arent killing Bella. Other option why Mab didn't make him look like her: She actually finds Sam Neill handsome. hmmm...So she thinks some humans are attractive? It's weird because he's not stunningly beautiful and neither is Vortigern. They look good, but not jaw-dropping gorgeous. You'd think she would want the very best and have the gorgeous ones.Hmm well Mab thought him magnificent. I dunno it'd have been cool for Merlin to have dark hair and pale skin. Why did Mab make him the way he was? Maybe if he was too perfect he wouldn't have been able to convince the people... nah Im lost honestly no clue. I just know it would have been awesome if Mab/Merlin had looked similar Damn you all with your many responses!!!!Agreed Family troubles- much as I love Mab, I have to say, Merlin really really wins in the family troubles stakes. Merlin wins. (Yeah, Merlin's Apprentice, you are the King of Continuity)- I mean, finding out you fathered such a fail as Jack would surely break anyone's brain.I'd probably kill myself :L nah really though I wonder if when they made MA we were supposed to forget that what Merlin was doing was sleeping with his aunt. Its a shame they didn't get a bit funkier with the timeline in MA, really. Merlin could have given his son to Vortigern, since he kept trying to beget children. Though I seem to recall he eventually just gave up and decided to build castles instead...Yeah sure normal people buy a dog or something but castles are cool ;D well yeah oh I totally agree so much could have been done. I mean if they're screwing with the orginal plot anyways why not make a good story from it, I look at all these fab fics, or roleplays, and they make far better sequels/prequels than MA. Merlin looking human- Whilst she's gazing into the crystal before she creates Merlin, she mutters "He's perfect", and at that point he looks like Sam Neill, so yeah, maybe she does find Sam Neill sexy ;P. Mab's Mab we shouldn't question Actually, in the books it describes the image as "a beautiful young man with light brown hair and piercing dark eyes"... Anyway, I digress. Its only after this point that she realises she can't create a fullgrown fae, and he'll need to be half mortal, etc, so she obviously always intended for him to look as he looked (i.e. Sam Neill), fae or not. Perhaps had Merlin been Fae, he would have had the "glittery skin" look to him, and other minor "non-human-isms" and still looked mostly the same...
That's what I was thinking too, she'd planned Merlin to look like Sam but perhaps fae Merlin would have sparkled and blah blah. So kind of like there's two Merlin's there could be human Merlin that we all know and hate, but perhaps fae Merlin would have been dark and all pretty and more connected to Mab. And Im guessing Ambrosia couldn't have brought him up then. Mab's taste in men- Arwen, ye mention Merlin and Vortigern as examples. I always got the impression with Vortigern it was more his ... not sure personality is quite the right word, but his attitude.Either in the book or on here or something probably on here it was said they got on so well because they were alike but in different ways if that makes sense. Either he's really to her taste lookswise, or he just looks strong and leader-like? lol I only sometimes like Vortigern depending on which way the wing is blowing. I've said a few times now though that Mab may care very little about looks. I mean when I read Idath's description I was shocked because I never assumed that'd be her type in a million years. Death yes, Idath no. But there you go. Merlin probably is perfectly designed by Mab though. I reckon she probably does go for the pretty ones sometimes, too... its all about variety! And being alive as long as she has, she'd probably be glad for some.I'd imagine she'd bore easily, but yeah I think Mab likes a person to have something special be it looks or another quality. Mab looks inhuman, but she could probably pass as one.If she toned down her colors she could definitely pass as human. But no way would I want her to, she's gorgeous!yes she's not meant for being human we love her as our alien beauty. From Disney channel to Spartacus and Camelot, I have quite a range don't I?Yes my lovely you do where as mine goes from Repo to Camelot to Spongebob Squarepants, it's awesome dont dis Well know I dont watch Wizards of Waverly. I think appearances are probably important to a certain extent- note how Mab's "default" appearance (since she can change her appearance to mimic that of others, apparently has animal shapes, and can just be a voice- see that scene in the estuary with Merlin yelling at the sky... though I think that in the shooting script the clouds were supposed to take on the image of Mab, or something. Might be imagining it, I don't have it with me) is a very pretty woman indeed. But perhaps they, or some of them, consider it less important in their partners?Hmmm, well I think Mab enjoys looking the way she does she is beautiful and if I could look like anyone it'd be her. So looks can be important for her but if she found someone extremely gifted or powerful or something but they were scarred I don think she'd mind. I mean when you think about it Mab is a fae she must find all humans ugly really compared to herself and her faes. A scar here and there would probably make them look no different :L Vortigern trying to beget children and his tower won't stand ew please tell me we are not going to discuss that. PMSL! To me it's like fae can be nonchalant about appearances -of their own and of others- because they know it's 'only an illusion'.Morgan could have been a cool fae 14 year-old Mab is hard to imagine. Strangely Mab in modern times is easier to imagine. She already appears to be quite outside of time. 14 year old Mab is scary to imagine :L Yes and very cool. Oh yeah forgot to say that chick in the clip yeah she could be like some watered down Mab descendant or somethin :L The typical 'obey your parents' kid-show.Never ever liked shows like the magick is to be considered more realistic than that concept ;D Skins gets me more. I just think it's interesting Alex says "hey everyone I'm a wizard" because she's female. That befuddled me. Mab never says "I'm a sorceress" or "I'm a wizard" or "I'm a faery" to anyone. Would Mab be referred to as a wizard or a sorceress or a faery?Goddess Is "wizard" only for males?I had always thought so. All I can say is: fae like to play. yumOooooooooh They definitely like attention, it keeps them alive.Pfft the attention we give Mab she should be skippin past our houses Anyway, forget Bella- make the demon spawn kill Nimue! XDSee now here's a bloody plan Like when the old soothsayer guy was fawning over Mab after she appeared to him. She just took it in stride, like "Oh look another follower."I imagine youth to be more important to Mab than beauty. She'd probably have made a better kid than Merlin. I can see it now, she'd jump at the chance to do magic (and would've gotten the hang of it a lot faster than Merlin, too). *still thinks Idath and Mab should have birthed a babah*I still think that such a thing isn't really possible. She can create beings from her own essence, but not give birth to them in the human sense. And Idath is death so I don't think he has the power to create anything. He is the antithesis of creative power. And Im guessing Ambrosia couldn't have brought him up then.woah great idea! But if she was seeing her second choice in the crystal aka the half-human version of Merlin, why did she say "ah perfect" instead of "well I guess that's the best you can expect in a half-human version" XD I mean when I read Idath's description I was shocked because I never assumed that'd be her type in a million years.why? what did you think about him? Spongebob Squarepants,I have nothing against spongebob. I used to watch him when I was younger. He's one of the better cartoons out there. I just think it's interesting Alex says "hey everyone I'm a wizard" because she's female. That befuddled me.Male and female are both called "wizards" in the show. Gender doesn't matter. I've also read books where "wizard" was used for both sexes so it's not too unusual. Some wicca-based stories use the word "witch" for both sexes. the attention we give Mab she should be skippin past our housesI'll let you know if I see her. I imagine youth to be more important to Mab than beauty. I think so too. In a lot of faery stories I've read, the faeries tend to prefer younger people over older people because faeries don't really understand mortality and frailty. Younger people don't understand frailty either until they get old so they're closer to faeries in how their minds work. Which goes back to Ashleigh's point Mab should have had a daughterI think I've covered that in two separate fics hehehehe. Moira and Leah and Melody, may they live forever with Mab.

Younger people don't understand frailty either until they get old so they're closer to faeries in how their minds work.aaw that's one of the cutest fae theories I've ever read
;D Think about it. Most young people don't think they'll ever die. Faeries are the same way. Young people act like they think they're immortal, it's only until they start aging that they realize they've been living in a dream world. So faeries like the young because their minds aren't yet overshadowed by the thought of mortality.
I think that's partially where some of the innocence of faeries lies, it lies in their lack of understanding of death. It's kinda ironic. You can live for an eternity, but until you encounter death, you still have some innocence left. Mab had that innocence, she truly never thought she would die.

*still thinks Idath and Mab should have birthed a babah* I still think that such a thing isn't really possible. She can create beings from her own essence, but not give birth to them in the human sense. But it never says she cant Barr that Im still convinced Puddles birthed Jack :S And Idath is death so I don't think he has the power to create anything. He is the antithesis of creative power.Yeah that makes sense, however I disagree on account of me liking your rp alot better That's what I was thinking too, she'd planned Merlin to look like Sam but perhaps fae Merlin would have sparkled and blah blah. So kind of like there's two Merlin's there could be human Merlin that we all know and hate, but perhaps fae Merlin would have been dark and all pretty and more connected to Mab. And Im guessing Ambrosia couldn't have brought him up then. woah great idea!Thank you I've been given alot of thought lately to Merlin and Dark!Merlin. But if she was seeing her second choice in the crystal aka the half-human version of Merlin, why did she say "ah perfect" instead of "well I guess that's the best you can expect in a half-human version" XDBecause that was the best Mab could muster and although she berates Mordred I dont see her berating her own work. I mean when I read Idath's description I was shocked because I never assumed that'd be her type in a million years. why? what did you think about him?Because I dunno I assumed her lover would be I dont know it's difficult to explain, oooh the guy that plays well Guy in RobinHood would be a nice image but I've only seen music videos with him in it. Or that guy out Xena that you mentioned. Spongebob Squarepants, I have nothing against spongebob. I used to watch him when I was younger. He's one of the better cartoons out there.I love Spongebob! :L There's nothing like coming home melted and putting it on you think it's AMAZING :L Male and female are both called "wizards" in the show. Gender doesn't matter.Ahhh. I've also read books where "wizard" was used for both sexes so it's not too unusual.Never heard it before. Some wicca-based stories use the word "witch" for both sexes. That I have heard same with warlock. the attention we give Mab she should be skippin past our houses I'll let you know if I see her.ditto I imagine youth to be more important to Mab than beauty. I think so too. In a lot of faery stories I've read, the faeries tend to prefer younger people over older people because faeries don't really understand mortality and frailty. Younger people don't understand frailty either until they get old so they're closer to faeries in how their minds work.Oh yay I got it right Which goes back to Ashleigh's point Mab should have had a daughter I think I've covered that in two separate fics hehehehe. Moira and Leah and Melody, may they live forever with Mab.I love all three of those chicks my fave possibly being Leah. Im passionate about things usually for two-three years after it's finished and I will be obsessed but after that I'll not bother with it any more. Usually I am like that as well. But some obsessions are immune to time "and when it is time for him to be born, he will rip you open like the good little monster I designed him to be." The worrying thing is that is exactly how Mab would react The worrying thing is that we would love her for it. Younger people don't understand frailty either until they get old so they're closer to faeries in how their minds work.aaw that's one of the cutest fae theories I've ever readAnd logical. the attention we give Mab she should be skippin past our houses hihi *looks out of the window* she's not here yet We'll keep watch and we may conclude that we are the ideal candidates for being abducted by Mab. Congrats to all!Woo! Go us! And Im going to be young forever. (dont argue) Think about it. Most young people don't think they'll ever die. I honestly didn't read that before replying above :L Faeries are the same way. Young people act like they think they're immortal, it's only until they start aging that they realize they've been living in a dream world. On the contrary that only happened to half my family the other half are old and dont really care because they consider themselves young. So faeries like the young because their minds aren't yet overshadowed by the thought of mortality.Ditto see I'd make a good faerie. I think that's partially where some of the innocence of faeries lies, it lies in their lack of understanding of death. It's kinda ironic. You can live for an eternity, but until you encounter death, you still have some innocence left. Im actually not so different as a child I was petrified of death and it isnt a fear that can ever really be conquered. Though yes it can be accepted. So I opted for the other choice, I refuse to accept death. That's why I dont cry at funerals. I know it sounds odd but I dont believe in death my theory is people who vanish are just hiding. And Im glad thats the way I am because when I was a child the idea of death lead me to insomnia. It's weird and I suppose really selfish when you sit up and cry all night mourning yourself. Mab had that innocence, she truly never thought she would die. That's the way I want to be till I vanish. Although I like Mab's idea. If you do become remembered you truly are immortal. But if you dont become remembered your forgotten and it's like you never existed.

Yeah that makes sense, however I disagree on account of me liking your rp alot better yes I love it in fanfics, but in a 'realistic-fantasy' lol I don't think it would happen.
Or that guy out Xena that you mentioned. Ares would be perfect! I dunno, I think Idath was kinda like that, he had some sarcasm going on I think. I think he is hot, we just don't get to see enough of him to really find out.
my fave possibly being Leah. ooo why Leah instead of one of the others?
That's why I dont cry at funerals. I know it sounds odd but I dont believe in death my theory is people who vanish are just hiding. I didn't ever think about death until my dad got really sick with cancer when I was ten years old. Then I spent a lot of time being frightened about death and I soon buried myself in fantasy literature to escape reality. And most of this fantasy literature was about elves and vampires who could overcome death. That's where my love of reading started. My dad died a year later and I did my best not to cry the entire time. My mom cried constantly and I viewed her as weak. I only lost control once at the funeral, but have barely cried since then. It's been ten years. I cry only about once every 1-2 years when life gets really stressful and I always make sure to do it in private where no one knows. All of those faery and vampire and fantasy novels taught me to keep control of my emotions. Losing control is a sign of weakness, and in some books I read, becoming overly-emotional weakens one's magic and can get you killed in a dangerous situation. You have be calm and controlled to keep control of your magic. Those fantasy books offered both strength and escape during a horrible time. Thank you JK Rowling and others! I still rely on my fantasy books for those purposes, but I also rely on God too. Originally, I was rather angry with God for a few years because I thought he had abandoned me because I couldn't understand why he would allow my dad to die. I deserved to die a million times over before my dad. He was one of the kindest people I've ever known. His mother is exceptionally kind too.
So I certainly understand Merlin's anger "She let my mother die?" Only mine was far worse since I actually knew my father.
Death is very real to me because of what happened to my father, but until then I had harder ever thought about it.

Yeah that makes sense, however I disagree on account of me liking your rp alot better yes I love it in fanfics, but in a 'realistic-fantasy' lol I don't think it would happen. Then we'll agree to disagree Or that guy out Xena that you mentioned. Ares would be perfect! I dunno, I think Idath was kinda like that, he had some sarcasm going on I think. I think he is hot, we just don't get to see enough of him to really find out.Okay screw this if we're not getting Mab the movie can we at least get Mab the book? I want to know of Idath. I do see him clicking with Mab being death but at the same time I dont see them as a couple at all. Also it'd be easier to picture them if anyone on planet earth could find a decent Idath image ;D my fave possibly being Leah. ooo why Leah instead of one of the others?I dunno hehe, I love Moira hands down my fave look for Mab's daughter, Leah not as keen on her image, I think it was Tarja? Who I love but imaged Leah to look well nothing like her :L but I loved how she started off against Mab then grew to understand her also I loved the part where Ariel Mab and Leah were trapped together and Leah had to give Mab her tear so she could have her wings, and how she walked in and then was rubbing Mab's wings :L it totally got me into the idea of Mab having wings. Melody is great too but she's more like Mab's personal toy than anything else That's why I dont cry at funerals. I know it sounds odd but I dont believe in death my theory is people who vanish are just hiding. I didn't ever think about death until my dad got really sick with cancer when I was ten years old. Then I spent a lot of time being frightened about death and I soon buried myself in fantasy literature to escape reality.*huggles* Im sorry about your dad, I never have gotten on with mine so it would be no great loss to me. But yeah I turned to reading to help me escape the real world too. Sometimes with death sometimes I just needed somewhere else to live. It's been ten years. I cry only about once every 1-2 years when life gets really stressful and I always make sure to do it in private where no one knows. All of those faery and vampire and fantasy novels taught me to keep control of my emotions. I can cry at films or books other than that it's just completely random :L honestly can be standing in the middle of a shop and burst out laughing or crying for no reason. I dont know why I do it because in general I am VERY guarded about my emotions but I have completely random changes of heart depending on the wind. I still rely on my fantasy books for those purposes, but I also rely on God too. Fantasy books yes, but I dont believe in god. He was one of the kindest people I've ever known. His mother is exceptionally kind too.He sounds lovely Death is very real to me because of what happened to my father, but until then I had harder ever thought about it.I dont get close enough to people to miss them that much after all the most they can do is hide thats my world and it'll always be
